Welcome Karen, I also take the full regimen and feel alot better, doesn't work for some, works for others, you need to know that first off.
Many of us wear a medical bracelet, whatever you're comfortable with. You can tell the attendents if you want, you may be fine and not need to. Many of us have never had a problem flying. Hopefully you won't either! Don't get worked up about this MM before you go stress plays a big role into having attacks as you may have read. Good luck keep us updated on how you do!...

Hi, I'm new here and posting from the UK. I'm really glad to have found somewhere to get information and to speak to other people who are also going through the same thing.

I've been having symptoms for 5 years now, but they have only worsened in the last 18 months or so. I was able to "live" with them till recently, but have been having loads of attacks in the last month, so I've now been given betahistine (SERC) by my doctor. It seems to have stopped the attacks but I still feel a bit woozy and the tinnitus/deafness is still there.

Is it possible to combine this regimen with SERC or is that not recommended?

    Thanks.

    Pamina,

There is no conflict whatsoever with the regimen and SERC therapy.

The regimen provides multiple methods to attack the disease; importantly it suppresses herpes viruses that are the root cause of most Meniere's cases.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Was diagnosed with probable MM 1st of this year. Doctor was puzzled as I did not have vertigo. Last 2 weeks vertigo with thirst has appeared. 1st mild in night, 2nd a little worse in night, 3rd pretty bad at night (all during night when I wake up for one of my trips to the john) The last one I had was during the day. The vertigo lasted about 30 minutes, then not to steady on feet for a while. I have an appointment w/dr in a couple of days. I have the fogginess and have a sense that my balance is off. I think I will follow the regimine, can't hurt.

    John,

Thanks so much for your reply. I'm going to give it a shot - have got nothing to lose after all! And thank you for posting your findings - I really wanted to follow some kind of "alternative" route for this and did not know where to start.

I'll let you know how it goes.

    Pamina and AFL:

If you are looking for some relief, consider finding a NUCCA chiropractor in your area. I have been seeing one for almost 2 years and have had no vertigo since. You can find out more at www.nucca.org and find a practitioner. There's also a very loooong string on the subject in the database under Hank Sullivan's postings.

Good luck with the regime and whatever else you find that helps.

Thanks Songbird. I've found the only NUCCA practitioner in the UK, luckily I live in London where she is based!

It definitely sounds worth giving it a go - I am willing to do anything to get rid of the vertigo. Amazing how the deafness and tinnitus are secondary concerns!

Thanks Ray AND John, of course,
I'm a little foggy right now so just a quick note...My primary care physician pretty much dismissed the info in the link. afraid to start without a professional opinion (I take a lot of meds for different autoimmune diseases). Can't afford different health care, shi-oot. Looks like I'm stuck for now...I'll try again later (maybe sneak a message to the disease specialist who diagnosed my condition) =~).

pamina: The NUCCA doctor in London is actually Canadian (like me). I have corresponded with her about my treatments and she is quite knowledgeable and is treating several patients with Meniere's symptoms if I recall. I can't think of her name at the moment...but I think you will be in very good hands if you go that route. I started treatments in February 07 - 2x a week for about 6 weeks; the vertigo left me by April 07 and I had my last dizzy episode in June. I haven't had vertigo since. I have tinnitus and fullness and have had some (slow) success with an osteopath. After my last treatment, my tinnitus on the right is barely audible. I'm hoping that with continued treatments for both osteopath and NUCCA, I can get this thing down to about 20% of what is was/is now. My osteopath has had success with another patient as well, so I'm hopeful. Feel free to PM me if you have more questions. I'd be happy to help you through your treatments. Most of all, you have to be PATIENT.

I would like to thank John of Ohio for putting this regimen together. Your regimen has given me a new life.

I started experiencing MM symptoms 3 years back after a trauma to my neck. I first thought it was because of the neck that I am feeling dizzy most of the time culminating in vertigo. However my ear felt full all the time with ringing sound. After numerous visits to the ENT I was left without any hope and decided to accept this as a way of life. I was on low sodium diet and taking diuretics which didn't seem to help. However just when I hit nadir I came accross the regimen and decided to give it a try. To be honest I didn't have any hope. As suggested I showed the regimen to my Doctor and she said it should be fine to follow it. Then about 6 months back I started on it. After a few weeks of usage suddenly one morning I realized I could hear clearly from my left ear. I didn't initially make the connection but later that day when I was taking the vitamins it dawned upon me. Since then I have been regularly taking the vitamins. I take one of everything now in a maintenance mode. I still am on a low sodium diet. I try to eat fresh cooked food as far as possible and eat lot of fresh fruits. I am doing lot of yoga to strengthen my neck and upper body. I am also doing meditation which has helped me handle stress better as I have realized stress triggers the symptoms. As pianojoe suggested your body is sending a warning signal when the ringing sensation comes back.

    Thanks again.

Songbird and Hank - thank you so much. Yes, this was the practitioner I found on the internet. I'm going to get in touch with her and see what she says. I'm sure that all the years I've spent in the office hunched over a computer have not helped my posture at all, so maybe that's what is causing or worsening the symptoms.

pamina: I have had great success with NUCCA in combination with an osteopath. I have a very lopsided body starting with forward rotating hips and working its way right up to my neck and shoulders. The practices are very complimentary, I find, and I am feeling much better having relief from sore hips, spine, back and neck. Good luck to you and let us know what happens.

First time posting. This regime got my attention. I don't have classic meniere's, but I am another one with cochlear hydrops. Have had this over 15 years. It progressed to where it is now, bad, and i was diagnosed 5 years ago. Lost 90% of hearing in my left ear and have the constant tinnitus. When my inner aer fills up with fluid, which happen once a month like right now, I can barely hear out of my good ear. I want to try this, but was wondering if I should take all the herbs as I don't have dizziness or vertigo. I also need to add it's nice to know I now have a place to go where people "get" what's going on with my hearing. I am on a diuretic and very low sodium diet. When I am diligent with the diet, the episodes are less severe. Sometimes it's so hard though as I'm very social as well! I refuse to let this disease take my life away from me, and I will search until I figure out what works best! Thank you all for listening.

    Hi, chianti,

Don't know how much research you've done while looking into Johns regieme, but I DO know that he specifically and often states that talking to your doctor is a wise idea before using this help. I've tried talking to my doctor and he talks about how it would interfear with my other meds ( I have a nummber of health problems like a lot of people on this site). I think he just didn't want to look very hard into it. I guess I could find another doctor but he's so good about a lot of other things, its hard to give him up right now. Hope you find you can and should use it, but most of all, I hope it works!

    Chianti:

The regime is designed to reduce the fluid build up (lemon bios/vinpocentine), protect against inflammation (l-lyscine) and protect the cells. I would take everything with the exception of the vertiheel for dizziness, as a matter of fact, I do! I have experienced a noticable drop in the fluid build up and the tinnitus (it's not completely gone, but it's better).

I am also working with an osteopath to remove the postural obstructions ....to keep the fluids in my body flowing unrestrictedly and prevent the back up. So far, so good. I haven't had vertigo since April 07.

Added a sinus rinse to the regimen, this makes my affected ear pop and seems to help with some of the pressure. Would like to know if this may be helping?
