I try to be a tough old coot, but when I hear Amazing Grace played on the bagpipe at a military funeral it really gets to my lachrymal glands.

Amazing Grace is one of my favorites - I used to sing it as a lullaby to quiet my extremely colicky son, I think it helped me more than him.

We had bagpipes playing amazing grace at our wedding for the family members we had lost. There wasn't a dry eye in the chapel.

The great thing that grabs me in both versions is that they both testify to my heart. One from the precious heart of a 7 year old, the other, from a group of men who are not ashamed to share where they were and what they are headed for. It took them over 3 minutes to hit the crescendo, but WoW, did they hit it!
