A friend just gave me a bunch of kiwis and I'd really like to eat them. :D What's the best way?

First you need to pluck the feathers, then gut and clean the bird. After that they can be fricasseed, fried or roasted.

    How's that for a smart-ass answer?

LOL! I wondered if any of our Aussie friends would have something to say about that! Too funny. I needed a good laugh. ;D

You put the Kiwi in a pot with an old boot some onions, celery and carrots and boil for about 2 hours, than take out the old boot and eat that because it will be more tender that the Kiwi ;D ;D ;D ;D :)

I find that buying them a drink or two first helps.

Ahh, yes, the drink did the trick! But seriously, I found that a good paring knife did the trick -- as did cutting them in half and eating them with a spoon! Great breakfast! Thanks guys!

    Ah.

Kiwifruit. I have Kiwifruit growing in the garden. Some hardened people even eat the skins. Great vitamin source.

The English used to call them Chinese Gooseberries.

Sliced and artfully arranged on the top of a pavlova.

    That is just so 1980's.

I guess you do fondue parties up on the North Shore as well?

Kiwifruit? Eat 'em like an apple. Savour the roughness on your tongue. Makes you feel alive!

    1980s?!?!

A kiwi on a pav is timeless. Classic. Don't mess with the pav.

You want to feel alive? Drink a raw egg mixed with yoghurt. Breakfast of champions.

Drink a raw egg mixed with yoghurt? This I have to see.

    1) Crack raw egg into food processor
    2) Spoon some yoghurt into food processor
    3) Process contents for 20 seconds
    4) Drink.

When I was a kid (in pre food processor days) mum used to make it up in a cocktail shaker. She never shook it up enough (perhaps because she did it with one hand as the other hand was busy holding a Benson and Hedges) and there were often big lumps of albumen. THAT was chunderific. If you whizz it up properly it's actually quite nice - creamy.

    1. I'm not eating the skin of a Kiwi, I know for a fact I'm not tough enough.
    2. I love fondue and Pavlovas and yes, fondue is making a big comeback.
    3. No raw eggs for this woman.
    4. Discovered that kiwi slices are really good over Dutch babies (real recipe I swear) with berries, syrup and a little powdered sugar. Yum!
