at least for me:

paprika
sage, basil, cumin, marjoram, pepper,
curry powder
mayonnaise
hot sauce of several kinds
cayenne powder
ramen noodles - toss that awful seasoning
garbanzo beans
mustard - regular yellow, Poupon type, coarse ground
wine
variety of pasta
many and varied condiments (luckily for me, salt is not a bother)
balsamic vinegar
rice vinegar
ginger
garlic - ez to grow
onions
olive oil - cold first press virgin
canola oil
rosemary

probably think of more later

how about you. With the above goodies I have the base for many meals of a great variety.

Hey There, I am looking for some Low-So recepies for the up coming Hunnukka season. My congregation knows of my condition and if I can find tasty vittles I am sure they won't notice that they are Low-So. Help

Add to the essentials list:

sesame oil (great for Asian flavors, veggie stir-fry, fried noodles, etc.)
Lum Taylors BBQ sauce
Enricos spaghetti sauce (great base to add ingredients, no sugar added, tastes like home made,
and very low sodium)
Pacific Island Soy Sauce (unbelievably low sodium, tastes so fresh, yum!)

I always have cans of no-salt added tomato products, low-so peanut butter, low-so refried beans, corn tortillas, and in the freezer a variety of fish, and chicken.

Paul, you would feel at home in my kitchen as long as you are able to forgo pasta and condiments. Adding to your list, I would include

coriander, turmeric, mustard seeds, fennel seeds ...
brown rice
lentils, red and green varieties
turtle beans
bulgur
stocks (vegetable and chicken, homemade whenever possible)
seasonal vegetables

Wobbles

PS Spice, spice, and more spice.

Hi dlbach1,

There are lots of good low sodium recipes out there. My favorite online sites are

http://www.lowsodiumcooking.com/free/Archive.htm

http://www.fitnessandfreebies.com/lowsalt/index.html

Also, a great forum for swapping recipes is http://whatscookin.proboards4.com/index.cgi?board=lowsodium

Good luck!

Sodium isn't a trigger for me but I do try to keep it low anyway. BUT

I'm a condiment freak I guess. Never have real food but always have condiments.

lemons
capers
mustard of any kind
jelly
banana peppers
jalapenos (for guests)
olives
basalmic vinegar
red wine vinegar
EVOO (watch Rachael Ray)
garlic
tomatoes
lettuce of varying kinds
Spices - oregano, Mrs. Dash table blend, mint, dill, thyme, sage, rosemary, majorum, Italian blend, lemon pepper, red pepper, black pepper, paprika and a bunch more
Onions
Pasta
chicken
brown rice
+++++
