This year for Xmas I have decided to do something different. No gifts for friends! I have decided to give the book called Messenger to them to read. It is about Mattie Stepanek, written by his mother (jeni Stepanek ) which gives a first hand accounts I a boy who went through unimaginable suffering. He has been nominated for Sainhood, he lived until his 14rh birthday and died in 2004. If you have not read it, I recommend it. I bought 25 of them yesterday and will now leave them for family and friends to read for Xmas. If you think life is tough, please read this book. It put everything in perspective for me. I will never complain again after reading this child's story.
BD....do you need me to give you my address? It would mean more to me if it came from you....... Since you bought so many, anyway!! lol. :-* Add it to my list!! No, don't do that, I really want it from YOU!
Aladdin, The X is Greek for Chi which is an abbreviation for Christ. Xmas has been used for a thousand years and it really isn't meant to be sacrilegious.
I never knew that - thank you for sharing this. Someone had posted ChristX on my facebook page and I liked it. Never knew the Greek part/definition. Thank you again for enlightening me - the older I get the less I seem to know. lol
I like the word Christ better also. I did know that the X meant Christ, but I will now use the Christmas. I never say happy holidays, I always say Merey Christmas. This book Is astounding.
