They look but don't really see
They hear but don't really listen
I can see, but cannot hear
    I'm deaf but noises hurt
I've told them, but they don't understand
    Where is their humanity?
    Perhaps they never had it
    How very sad for them.

You have written words of merit, Linda. I think tht if you were not such a good "listener" you would not be hurt so much by those people. Folks do not want to see me or you sick because it reminds them of something they are ignoring. It reminds them that they might be next and that scares the crap out of them. Understanding requires depth of character. You have this depth and it intimidates people. You are a fine Lady, a good human being. You don't need to hear to be who you are. BUT, it sure would be nice, eh?

So very true - those who can hear don't listen, those who can see, don't look.
We try to hear so badly, and they accuse us of not listening. How very sad for them.

Sis, this is an amazing poem. Your words speak volumes...others need to listen and hear. I know you deal with this on a daily basis. :-* :-*

Your poem is like your smile. Direct. From your heart, through my eyes, then into my soul. :)

    Ditto, Aladdin, ditto Linda.

    ((((( hugs )))))

Where have all of you been? This is just what I needed, a connection with someone else's pain.
    Thank you.

:) ((((( hugs))))) I believe our Guardian Angels surround and try to protect us, like the parenthesis used to represent hugs!

Linda does not post here anymore - what words of kindness and wisdom she had. She was one of the first people from .org I ever met and have cherished her friendship since.

The world needs more compassion and humanity. I too believe that we have Guardian Angels - the Bible also says too that you will never know when you entertain an Angel - unaware.....
