I'm new here and see some threads about Covid vaccines but wanted to ask specifically about people with MD and their reaction to the Johnson and Johnson Vaccine or even to the other vaccines. Here's my story.
I received the shot at my local pharmacy. I felt fine for about 2 minutes. My daughter was just about to get hers when I started feeling like I was going to pass out. I yelled I have to sit. I started leaning out of the chair and my daughter held me in it. I was moaning and got extremely hot. My daughter tells me I asked for a trash can in between my moans but I don't remember. I was extremely nauseous. Then I remember saying I needed to lie down so there I was on the floor of the pharmacy. I laid there for about 5 minutes and then sat up. Then I was fine. That was it. 15 minutes of horrible almost passed out super hot but then fine. Was it just my reaction to the vaccine or have other MD'ers had bad reactions?

I have a progressed form of bilateral MD. I have gotten both shots of the Pfizer now. My first shot I think I was really anxious and made myself dizzy. The second I was much more relaxed and did absolutely fine. The first shot I was very sore after and didn’t feel the greatest. The second I worked out the day before and stayed very active the day of, that helped a lot. Most people get sick after the second and I didn’t, however I was sick the first shot I got.

Pfizer here. First vaccination: Tiredness the first night and muscle pain in the arm for three or four days.

Second vaccine: Same symptoms, but much milder.

No dizziness or vertigo or hellish tinnitus or go deaf.

I had Pfizer vaccine. Felt fine first shot, second shot did not feel good.
I was just happy to be able to get it.

I am honestly scared to death to get the vaccine. I have had covid and I don't want it again but I have also read a lot of testimonies on other forums where people with MD have had horrible reactions and say not to get it. I'm so torn on what to do.

2nd Pfizer shot caused my tinnitus to go through the roof and led to a suicide attempt it got so bad. It still has barely settled since February. That shot ended my life as I knew it. I wouldn’t touch that shit. I feel like Fauci is Goebbels experimenting on humans. I’m very bitter.

I am so sorry to hear that has been your experience. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I would be curious to know how many newly diagnosed MD had Covid prior.

I was just fine, I feel in the long run getting it was totally worth it. Just stay calm, hydrated, eat beforehand, and stay active!

Most of those people, or perhaps all of them, were going to have a Meniere's crisis on exactly the same days even if they didn't get vaccinated. They just link it to the vaccine because it was the only "different" thing they did that week. In any case, even if it was 100% certain that the vaccine will make you have vertigo and be sick for a few weeks, it still compensates getting vaccinated because you don't die from vertigo, but from covid you do or in the best case you infect a family member and so you kill him.

In addition, in the forums those who have had negative experiences always write because they have the need to tell them and warn them, but the vast majority who were vaccinated and did not have any problems do not go to a forum running to write that their experience was positive. I myself wrote here that it went well for me because I saw the thread by chance not because I needed to tell it, I enter this forum looking for news in treatments and research but I would not see that thread.

    So get vaccinated please.

I'm was vaccinated with Pfizer in February and March and had no issue with MD symptoms after either shot. Sore arm, fatigue, and that was it.

I got JNJ because of my hesitancy about mRNA. I’ve heard all the pros and cons. Please don’t dismiss people’s fears and concerns. The tired explanation I hear is that hundreds of millions have received mRNA. Great! But I not convinced the CDC has done a thorough enough job to address issues. So, I went with the single shot. I had the sore arm and then felt the tiredness and muscle aches the following day. After 48 hours I was fine. No issues with balance or hearing although my hearing has been an issue for two months. That was a separate trigger. Anyway, weigh your risk benefit profile. If you skate like me, functioning in society without a vaccine was becoming a problem. Mandates are coming in my view.

Folks please keep vaccine politics out of this thread and stick to how it affected your Menieres. I removed several posts as a result.

    Thanks,
    Ray

Our only option is Pfizer here in New Zealand. I've had one shot and due for my second next weekend. My only symptom was a sore arm the next day. Ive heard of others becoming unwell after the second. I wondered if the antivirals I take would make the shot less affective. The nurse I spoke to said the shot won't affect my autoimmune system

    My thought as well.

Have you seen this forum? www.vestibular.org/forum/dizziness/covid-19-vaccine-side-effects/ Over 500 pages of people documenting horrific reactions. Many had no preexisting vestibular or other health issues. I have other links. If you're interested, let me know, will post.

You couldn't pay me enough to take that shot.

I'm new here as well. Was diagnosed with Meniere's in 2005 and was able to deal with it pretty well. I work in healthcare so got the Moderna vaccine (2nd dose end of March). End of April the Meniere's attacks increased and were violent. I haven't been the same since. I don't feel safe to leave the house and am doing my current job from home. I've lost 15 pounds and am unsteady everyday. I am going to see a specialist in Philadelphia in October...hoping to get my life back

    Welcome to the forum, pandasmom.

I received, relatively early, two Pfizer doses. I will likely receive a booster in approximately four months time.

I've experienced no significant side effects. The severity of my Ménière's symptoms remain manageable & uninterrupted.

Both shots induced a slight forty-two hour long ache located at the sight of injection, & I slept for an abnormally solid ten hours on the night/morning of day four/five following my second dose.

It's been many moons since I've slept for ten straight hours, hence from a certain perspective, I'm grateful to have.

I had my second Pfizer vaccine in June. The only reaction was a sore arm for a few hours. Tetanus shot hurt way more.
