Normal is the best! You are doing exactly what needs to be done in order to feel normal. So happy for you. Keep it up.
Day 12 - Walk alone 2 times in the street in a total of 3,5 km. I still walk without balance but i'm better. When I'm lying down watching TV I feel normal!!
Day 13 - For the firs time I had lunch at a restaurant. After lunch I went barefoot on the beach for 1 hour. I walked about 2.3 km. I think I hadn't said it yet but the doctor asked to do optokinetic physiotherapy to help the vestibular rehabilitation. I have don a few years ago. Anyone have done this in the EUA this?
Day 14 - I make two walks. One on the moorning and than another afternoon in a total around 5 km. I still have off balance
Day 15/16/17 - Try to walks when can I . In these last 2 days I walked about 6 km a day. I continue to walk unbalanced. I still can't drive
Day 18- I didn't walk today. I went to the doctor for a routine appointment and according to him I am recovering very well and said that I should return to my normal life little by little! I'm very happy with my scar! I'm sure it won't even be noticed... Today I felt improvements in terms of balance. I don't know if it was because of my walks but in the last 3 days I walked more than 15 km!
Day 20 and 21 - I'm still with imbalance when walking. I drive my car these last 2 days but very short distances....about 1km... and it's hard. I get tired. Improvements are now less visible. I'm still not 100%
Luis, I’m a new member, but have been struggling with Menier’s since October 2018. I want to say thank you for sharing your experience. It helped give me the courage to schedule my labyrinthectomy. I’m following your progress and sending good vibes for your continued recovery.
Hi Ali! Thanks for your nice words... I'm glad that sharing my experience is helpful! Do you already have a date for the surgery?
Yes, 3/1/2022, a week ago. I thought about you on 2/14/22. I was at my doctor appointment, discussing my options. Which basically were continue to struggle or schedule the labyrinthectomy. My husband and took a deep breath and choose the Laby. How are you doing? Still progressing well. Your walking mileage is impressive.
Ok ok. You have done your surgery on January day 3? Correct? How are you doing if you have already made the surgery?
Every day I get a little better. Now the next step is to start driving without feeling dizzy. Next week I will start doing physiotherapy- optokinetic
Yes, I want to ask you specifically how your vision is doing. You had specifically mentioned your vision seemed impaired at 3.5 meters. Will this PT help correct this?
