I am also trying high dose vitamin D. In only the first two weeks, my tinnitus greatly reduced and my hyperacusis pretty much vanished. How are you doing now? How old are you? How long have you had issues?
How do you get yours - is it over the counter or prescribed ? I am taking 125 MCG prescribed so I would have to take 5 of these according to my calculations and I am not sure my doctor would approve it .
Thanks, it is here (USA) too I am increasing it on my own to see if it helps my "suicidal" as I call it, tinnitus
Well, there is a handful of studies showing inner ear problems are correlated with vitamin D deficiency. Also, even if you don’t suffer from a deficiency(determined by blood test), some people suffer from genetic differences which requires them to consume more vitamin D or have more sunlight than the next person. You can safely take higher doses of vitamin D as long as you make sure you are having routine blood work to watch for high blood calcium levels as vitamin D drives up calcium absorption from food.
Haha please show me the evidence of toxicity from 10,000iu. The amount a baby can make in 10 minutes at high noon. you know what else is dangerous? Suffering from Ménière’s.
Computer issue above post. No offense but why are you giving medical advice Jon Bubo ? DRySor just answered my questions, that's all. I think about putting a gun to my head 10 times a day do you think I give two shits about too much vitamin D ?
I have been attacked on Reddit as well for saying high dose vitamin D worked for me. Honestly it’s like these people work for pharma. Do I know if I can or will take 25,000iu of vitamin D everyday? No, I don’t. I do know there is some papers pointing out the correlation of inner ear disorders (tinnitus included) in people with low vitamin D. I also found out that supplementing with large amount of vitamin D was common practice about 100 years ago. People did this routinely and side effects were extremely rare. They put vitamin D in beer even. I do know that since I started supplementing with 25,000 iu per day, my hyperacusis disappeared. It’s gone. Will it be gone forever? I have no idea. My tinnitus always drastically reduced. Do I with 100% certainty know this is safe? No. That is why I am getting blood work to ensure I am not driving up my serum calcium. if anyone is interested. Go to pub med and read the papers on vertigo, tinnitus and Ménière’s in regards to vitamin d.
I am not impersonating a doctor lol. My first name starts with D and my middle name is Ryan… it’s just a username. I am sorry you took it that way.
Also vitamin D is not a vitamin. It’s a hormone. It’s an immune system modulator as well. That is why I am likely having great success using it.
