I am struggling to do my job everyday and I am getting zero support from home...how many of you out there were able to work once you found out you had this disease? A month into my symptoms and I feel so alone... glad I have this place. I am the breadwinner and it's hard to put on a happy face...it's all I can do to function everyday. Waiting for my vitamins to hopefully work.

I also had, prior to menieres, and still do have panic attacks. You need to get the panic attacks addressed as they can cause tinnitus and dizziness also. I have had very good luck with Zoloft and buspare. I know what you’re going through, been there once. Sleeping an hour at night and pacing the floor the until daylight. I lost 50 pounds in 6 weeks….the body really burns the calories when you’re in panic mode. But there is a bright side, you’ve never had a vertigo attack, I’ll take the panic attacks over those God forsaken vertigo attacks any day. The panic attacks with meds are somewhat controllable, nobody that I know was ever able to control those vertigo attacks. They were just debilitating. As long as you’re not having vertigo there is still that glimmer of hope that you may not have Menieres. Having vertigo attacks is what made the final diagnoses for me. Never even knew what menieres was, my ENT said that I might have it and I could have cared less. Man did I get educated when the vertigo started…..

Hang in there it does get better….

    Hi Rich,
I am very lucky I have avoided vertigo as of now but the brain fog is awful. I am managing the panic attacks and they are under control. Just got my blood work back and was hoping for thyroid, B-12 or Iron issues... all normal... pretty sad hoping for anything other than Manieres. My ECG showed some heart arrhythmia issues but I don't think that would cause brain fog.

Good Morning John - I along with many others in this forum can share in your sympathy. I'm over 6 years in with this disease and from the onset was worried about how I was going to provide for my family for I thought there was no way I could continue to work in the same capacity as I was previously. However, I've managed to luckily navigate the first couple of years battling all the crazy symptoms including vertigo and somehow kept my job by keeping things from those whom certainly have intervened (HR, etc). I'm stubborn as hell and only through my faith in Christ can I attribute to putting one foot in front of the other every day. To be noted, I saw a lot of relief through JOH regiment, sac decompression surgery, exercise, and betahistine sourced from Canada to save on $. Every day is still interesting but I know that one day I'll be made anew in heaven. So put on a smile for yourself when you can and for those we love always. You'll get through this. Here for you if ever need someone to talk to.
