Mary, love this post. My menieres has recently reared its ugly head. About two months ago I went on a heavy protein diet. I’m consuming about six eggs a day. I’m now having terrible tinnitus and migraines. Your post is VERY helpful

Hi Mary, Just want to check how you are doing. I was doing good for three months with plant based diet. My hearing was almost back to normal. Last few weeks, I start eating some meats and deep fried meats with the hope that my hearing will stay.Now my hearing is a little bit off. I am wondering if your hearing is stable or still fluctuating. I hope my hearing can return and I will stick to the diet. I am wondering how everyone is doing with this diet. I feel it will help as it reduces inflammation
hi, really good to hear you have had such good results with the plant based diet! that is amazing that your hearing has normalized as a result! and it makes sense that meats (which are high protein and if they are not lean, wild/grass fed, are usually fatty/processed, full of hormones etc, and possibly if fish contaminated by fish farm pollution or mercury, like tuna) gave you a flare. I am very much the same, I stick to vegan whole foods, high glucose (lots of potatos, bananas, other fruits and veggies) and very little grains (just a little gluten free such as gf oats, cassava pasta (thats actually a root veggie) and low fat, which is essential in that fats feed viruses, especially bad are eggs, cheese, pigs, lambs, and industrial processed animals ...basically I continue to follow faithfully the diet of medical medium cleanse to heal, at various levels but keeping troublemaker foods at bay. it is protecting me and keeping my symptoms at bay! i let myself step out of the diet a little here and there, maybe I have some soy dish, and right away my tinnintus flares, i get ear pressure, and that is aggravating. so the underlying virus, Epstein Barr, is still active and dormant in our bodies, in our vagus nerves, and when we eat foods that that virus likes, it goes on a feeding frenzy, and that causes the inflammation of the nerve that passed there by our ear canal, and gives us these symptoms. its cause and effect. I recently got my hearing tested, from when I shifted my diet to Medical Medium two years ago, I have had no further hearing loss! that is such good news. So the low freqency hearing loss I first experienced when I was in the development of Meniere's, while it hasn't returned, I completely halted the progression of the disease with this diet, so it has been totally worth it. please keep strong. perhaps you are noticing other positive things with this diet, I sure have! it healed my plantar fasciitis, TMJ, brain fog, etc etc...so many things. perhaps it is the hardest path in terms of self-discipline, but then it offers us these freedoms of health affords. sending such good luck to you, keep us updated! and read and study Medical Medium, to be sure you are supplementing your vegan diet with high quality Vimergy B12 etc etc...

Hi Mary I have a long history with Meniere's, no other diseases. I am currently struggling as my "good" ear is now almost as bad as my bad ear. I had a little scare about pre-diabetes so for the last two months I have been eating a lot of high fat Keto snacks. It turns out the Diabetes thing was probably not a problem. So, eating low carb/high fat has not helped my Menieres but the HIGH carb diet you eat is a bit scary. (honey, maple syrup, FRUIT, yikes ) I have ordered the book but one question I have is about dried fruit. I used to enjoy dried figs, apricots, prunes, blue berries, RAISINS. I golf a lot (when not dizzy) and need to eat something during long days driving, golfing then driving home. For the last 2 months the high fat Keto bombs did the trick but, from reading your posts, they are not a good idea. What about the dried fruit? don

hi! lets see, in the short run Keto helps people because they get off grains and combining fats and carbs. but in the longer run the fats and carb combo is what leads to diabetis, and many other diseases are fed by high protein diet. its explained in Medical Medium info! worth investigating. well to answer your query, dry fruit is safe. most of them can't compare to fresh fruit in terms of living energy and healing properties, except dates, as they are not actually dry! dates, they support the adrenals, (I always carry some with me. if you pair them with apples and even add celery sticks, you have the best snack following MM info and I can vouch for that). if you eat dried fruits such as prunes, raisins, apricots etc they are missing the natural waters so drink extra fluids as they are less hydrating. they are safe and good for you keep in mind natural sugars and fruits are super foods for the body, they are what the body needs more than anything, fruits! there is a lot of 'fruit fear' out there. they are not the bad sugars, its a pity people are under the oppression of the fad concept. anyway, if you can rotate from keto to the high glucose (central pillars being bananas, potatos) and add loads of fresh fruits, veggies, herbs, and wild foods like berries, you will be much more protected, its worth a try although it is a big commitment and shift. the problem with keto is in the long run is it is very very hard on your liver. keto, eating tons of high protein high fat foods- while its a step up from paring protien with carbs (think pizza, rice and chicken) which is a pure disaster, the high protein diet is still super hard on the liver. at some point you are gonna run into new problems. and if you are eating eggs and dairy, yikes!! you are really missing out exploring lowering your symptoms and taking burden off your liver, the liver is the filter for the culprits/viruses causing us all this grief. I would recommend to anyone not completely satisfied w/their symptoms to pivot to plant based with minimal lean meat if they need to include it but definately not eggs/dairy. all this info I gleaned from my own healing journey using cleanse to heal and other info from medical medium resources, most are free and fully of testimonies of incredible health turn arounds. good luck on your journey!
I can contest to this, When I went Keto I saw similar results. Fullness, hearing and vertigo got substantially better the more I cut out inflammatory foods and lost weight.

Are you able to gradually add back in foods once you are better or do you have to stay on this diet for life?
I quit getting my hopes up with this disease years ago. I was diagnosed in 1998. It has come and gone ever since. I've had it go away for years and come back with a vengeance.
