Hi, wondering if anyone that has had the Endolymphatic shunt surgery is on here of late? Would like to know how you are doing and if you are 'free', as I am, from 'vertigo' since your surgery? That's great for sure! However,---always a 'however---I have times when I feel a 'sort of movement' inside my head and if I close my eyes, I feel like things are 'slowly moving' and for a few mins. it's unnerving! Also, not since the surgery have I had a day when the pressure in my head was mild to severe! Wondering if the tube could get clogged (my Neuro-doc says no) and if it's ever removed (again he says no, you take it to your grave). So, taking away the vertigo has been wonderful, but saying I am comfortable--isn't happening. I don't let it stop me from going and doing but bending over, balance issues (when walking or turning around quickly) are present and the daily head pressure and feeling 'dizzy' without the spinning can get to me. Nausea on occasion, but not as often as it used to be. Anyway, wondering if others having had this could comment--thanks!
I'm still going strong 5 1/2 years after my shunt surgery. Still have tinnitus but no fullness or vertigo. Luckily the other ear, I'm bilateral, has remained calm except for constant gradual hearing loss and tinnitus.
