I’m now on month two of taking the JOH regimen. I’m happy to report that between this and upper cervical chiropractic care that I have had no vertigo attacks, the fullness in my ear is gone and my brain fog is gone! I still experience tinnitus 3-4 times daily. I’ve adjusted the JOH slightly as far as dosing and also take Grape Seed Extract 2x daily. Just wanted to send a positive update. As John states in his regimen "Things tend to get worse before they get better" is so true. I experienced two weeks where my symptoms worsened. I am flying for business next month for the first time since being diagnosed and feeling anxious. If anyone has any helpful tips, please share ~ Thanks!
Sara (and others), Read and follow the latest, most successful version of the regimen, here: http://www.zoominternet.net/~kcshop/JOH.pdf Glad to hear of your success. Keep us posted as things progress. --John of Ohio
Hi Sara78: I fly short trips 3-4 times a year for business, and 4-5 times a year to help manage family affairs in Utah. It is usually less than 3 hours in the air. I get anxious leading up to it, but what I've learned to do is make sure I am well rested, drink plenty of water, and always bring something complicated to read - to keep my mind working on that instead of my surroundings. This seems to work for me. I also bring Verticalm (25mg Meclizine) with me, just in case. So far, so good - I've not had an episode in the air yet, to speak of. Some minor wobblies is all. What's the grape seed extract for? Cheers, JMC
Congrats! Most people dont have problems with flying unless they also have a eustachian tube problem.
Thanks for the tips! Grape Seed Extract helps reduce swelling/inflammation, improves circulation and many additional benefits. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/263332.php
I fly a lot for work. When I'm asymptomatic, I don't have any issues and take no precautions. But when my ears are wonky, this is what always worked for me: - Plenty of water before and during the flight. - Neo-sinephrine nasal spray about 15 minutes before boarding - Claritin 24-hour tab just before boarding - Ear Planes ear plugs during take-off and landing When I would do the above, the flights would have little to no effect on my ears. The 2 or 3 times I forgot to do it, I had some issues (including one ruptured eardrum).
