I use my credit card rewards to get stuff for free. For example today I ordered 2 T-shirts from L.L.Bean and 1 T shirt from Land's End,both online retailers. The total came to $63.and change. When the charges appear in my credit card bill online I simple apply my rewards $'s towards the bill which will become zero.

I buy groceries with my AMEX card. It has a 6% cash back on groceries. I don't drink anything but water. I don't buy many clothes because I work from home. I never pay interest. If I can't buy it for cash, I can't afford it. I drive an 8-year old car.

Since my hubby is really good with cars fixing them keeping them running we buy older cars for cash and it saves us tons in the long run. If didn't have him I would probably just use the bus LOL

Well then,it's a good thing you do have a husband otherwise how else would you account for 7 kids as well as an auto mechanic.See,husbands are good for something other than just fixing up old cars.

My credit card (which I pay off monthly) gives me 300.00 a year back in cash. It also extends factory warranties and once I used it to replace a broken laptop that was over a year old.

In the last year or so I have:

    dropped my land line
stopped lawn service, now i do it again
changed waste management services....its 50% less now
    stopped taking the local paper
started porting over all my smartphones to a much cheaper carrier ( I buy them unlocked on swappa), im almost done
shop for most of my food at a discount retailer
stopped getting oil changes at Jiffy Lube, now using local cheaper places
dropped some services from TWC and got them to drop my price for cable

oh, i keep my cars a long long time and use a good local mechanic (mine is 15 yrs old and the "new" one is 8)

Instead of going out for Mothers Day Dinner, I cooked. Saving wads of Monday and the foods better.

I hope the tips are good, too. Lol

    Lol

My goal is not to eat out this month, but with all the kids stuff going on it's just so convenient to see a Chili's and pull in after soccer practice at 6:30

My wife can't stand going out to dinner. Loves to go to lunch but not dinner

Been going to do this for years finally pulled the plug on cable Tv!! Went from 180.00 a month to 75.00 a month. Got rid of the landlines kept basic Tv and high speed Internet with AT&T. Who watches 250 channels?? Why do they even offer it? Anyone here watch 250 channels?

So very true, I did the same thing. Just have basic cable. I may watch 5 channels at most.
