I agree. This is really scary. If healthcare workers can board a plane with a temperature during the stage where they are contagious...this could become very bad and I don't think the U.S. Is prepared for it.

Then there's the Intero virus affecting children. It's insane. How do we protect children in school and daycare environments.

I'm watching everyday to see how it develops.

And what good would that do with LA airport? I'd think it would have to be somewhere totally isolated.

It seems the Intero virus is easier spread amongst children because it's airbourne.

I would think medical professionals would be more careful about the whole situation. The problem is there's a 21 day period when they aren't symptomatic. But, the good news is that it can only spread while you're symptomic. I'm not sure I like those odds.

    Yes,

She works in Oncology for kids but they are still worried especially in places like cafeteria and people who handle dirty linens and lab workers who are constantly working with blood and other specimen.

It's almost impossible to be totally certain that you're safe. That's what's scary. I hope she stays careful!

    Me too--- lol

Her floor is basically in isolation as not just anybody can enter. You need a security card.

But I told her if a child in AtlNta comes down with it or a teacher at any school I am pulling the kids and homeschooling.

I can't even say what I would do if my kids were still in school. Now the college is another thing. So many people coming and going. And the nursing program has them going to a local hospital as a part of their studies.

Geez, thanks, I hadn't even thought of that!

Yes, make sure she keeps gloves on and a mask.

Nurses are furious as I hear they were not trained properly. Unbelievable!

They now say the virus can last several hours on hard surfaces such as door knobs or desks ect....

I don't think anybody fully understands this yet. We're getting bits and pieces. It won't be until it gets really bad that everything will come out. Like everything else.

Geez,,when I go grocery shopping they have this machine by the doors with cleaning disposable cloths to wipe down your shopping carriage! And yeah I use them.

Maybe they wont want someone from atlanta with hospital connections moving in and exposing them and their remote place to risk. They will think of you like you think of people from dallas.

remember swine flu........I joined this group while I was infected with it. It was said to be as bad as anything out there. Turn the TV off and ignore what they are currently trying to hype up. The only thing we have to FEAR, is FEAR itself!

I don't think it's unreasonable to be concerned. Especially when you have loved ones in a hospital environment daily. I have a feeling this one will get a lot worse than the average flu.

We're a global community, Ebola is just an airplane ride away.

At least the EU is hunkering down and not allow certain air travel.
