Concern about two viruses that have the potential to kill is a far cry from panic.
As more cases are reported everyday we see how unprepared our hospitals are to handle this and the new measures that are being taken to bring everyone up to date.
The fact that people are being transported to a hospital that is better equipped for containment emphasizes that.

As far as the interovirus goes, we are talking about entire schools being closed down and disinfected. The transportation vehicles as well.

It's not a bad thing to keep a close eye on this. Who knows if Ebola will become more prevalent here or not. You don't know you even have it until you've at the stage where you can infect others.

I wonder if the people from the U.S. who have contracted it were aware that they had come in contact with bodily fluids. Especially considering they are medical professionals.
Bodily fluids do remain on surfaces where a person may touch. Say they have a small cut on their hand or arm or touch it then wipe their eyes or nose. So many possibilities.
I'm not saying people should panic, all I'm saying is that it is worth following.

As for the interovirus. Children have died. That's alone is cause for concern. Be it one or ten or more.

    Very nice.

After sharing a bed with 3 kids over the weekend and eating fast food for 3 days I have every Ebola symptom except the fever and I am not even sure I don't have one of those. Are headaches a symptom?

  5. I don't think so. You take to aspirin and I'll call ya tomorrow. :)

  6. That would be "two" not to. Wine time!

We are not suggesting anyone panic.

We just think it's a good idea to stay informed.

    I think that's common sense.

A person from Liberia arrived at Newark airport with a temperature and they are being held for testing.,this person flew through Brussels.
No need to panic as they are still doing tests.

BUT if this person has Ebola and took two planes, used the restroom, etc. that's when this disease gets a little scary. Who knows how many people COULD be infected in such close quarters?

I was out to dinner with mommy, SIL and a colleague of mommy's who works at the CDC and she was telling us the patient that died from Ebola in Dallas had his soiled sheets, garments ect..... just piled up and treated like any other laundry.

Most of the nurses did not have proper protection and the only ones who were given the correct protocol were the doctors who had on respirators ect........ She said it was a mess and according to her the CDC is monitoring like 700 people in the US, but as with everything else it is now political and we won't hear about it on the news. But according to this doctor at the CDC over 700 individuals are being monitored across the country.

Dr is now hospitalized with a temp of 103. They "say" he was only in contact with 4 other people.
3 are in quarantine. The fourth was a driver and considered not at risk.

    And here we go.

Question...is sweat considered a bodily fluid? I'm curious since this doctor was bowling last night. If you've bowled you know that your hands and fingers among other parts of the body sweat. Bodily fluids can even seep into open pores. This Dr also used the subway system. It is worth watching to see how this plays out.

Here is a medical professional supposedly aware of and taking precautions caring for Ebola patients in Africa and still he contracted it. His temp only spiked today but he felt fatigue for days before.,so when was he contagious? I don't even think anybody has the answers to these questions.

    Yes,

Sweat is a body fluid and the virus can last many hours outside the body on hard surfaces. So here we have a doctor in a city with 8-12 million people.

He arrived at the hospital last night very very sick. He lives in Upper Manhattan and the night before he was out bowling in Brooklyn---- he caught the Subway to go bowling. He was feeling ill but continued to bowl and party and have fun. He too an Uber car/taxi home all this with his girlfriend.

You know, this stuff is very simple---- if you have a visa, plane ticket arriving/originating from west Africa then you are not permitted into the US.

My wife has told me that if there is an outbreak, nurses/aides will leave in droves and there will be nobody to care for these patients. If you were a nurse would you risk your life for this shit.

This doctor should not have been permitted to enter the US--- he should have gone to a holding location and monitored for 30 days before being allowed into US.

Whether it's fear or ignorance is a valid argument/debate, what is not is exposing innocent people to a deadly virus we know little about and doing nothing to protect the homeland/people of US.

Fine, go fight the virus in Africa if you are a doctor but do so knowing you will have to be held in isolation for 30 days before coming back. Not out riding Subways, taxi's and bowling ect...... And then expect some innocent nurse to care for you at great risk and go home to her loved ones

We laugh about it until a child in your kids school from West Africa becomes infected because his father, cousin, uncle ect.......decided to go see family for a few days and brings it back.

One child in one school and it will be a mess! Common sense tells me it doesn't have to happen.

Bad, I agree wholeheartedly. I don't see anything funny about this at all. People who think it's a joke should be posting on the joke thread!

Hey BD, do you have an inside source? It was reported today that the Governors of NY and NJ have made it mandatory for people coming in from Africa, etc. be held in quarantine for 21 days.
Airports in NY and NJ are two of the airports designated for people flying in from those areas affected.

I cannot answer that right now. Mommy is very connected and a rather famous Dr. who has appeared on various news channels including CNN. I am sure many people have seen my wife on TV especially on the subject on pediatric cancer.

I have also been briefed as I own funeral homes, crematories and cemeteries with a group of 4 other investors.

With that said its Friday night and I want to party like Lindsey Lohan and Justin Beiber.

Let's see what happens with the new patient in New Jersey---your state, hopefully they test negative.
