Should be 3 weeks for the first two, and then the last (1000mg) would be an ongoing maintenance dose. Really after the first 3 weeks, if it works, you're seeing how low you can go for the maintenance dose.

The article is the one Vicki posted--discussion begins at the bottom of p. 103.

Hi Vicki and BTB and all in thread,

Thank you for the useful info here, and especially for the confirmation again on the url pdf given. Now I have 3 questions:
    1. How long on 1000mg maintenance dose should I ask for, as Valtrex is not cheap, in case the Dr ask me?
    2. I know that both Valtrex and Acy is in the same family, but Valtrex penetrates the blood stream differently. Does it mean that if Valtrex works for me and I cannot switch to Acy in the future (based on my thread journey with MD)?
    3. I think I have seen or read 500mg maintenance somewhere forum here or elsewhere, is it possible?

    Many thanks in advance.

So there you go, i just updated in my thread that I went to the hospital. I met with a lot of No No No, I don't believe this and that, it is not a virus. And somebody threw her temper at me and tore up the Recurrent Vertigo report.

Having said that, I did not give up, but still managed to get it from another kind doctor. As long as you do not give up, the door will be opened.

    Have a great day.
