Even when the attack is so quick, remember it still takes a toll on your brain and body.

    Hoping you stay well.

was it vertigo or a dizzy spell? If a dizzy spell it may have been your blood pressure dropped or low blood sugar.

vertigo is when the room spins around you like you are in the middle of a merry go round and seeing everything spin around you. I hope you feel better.

My last two bouts of vertigo lasted a couple hours. I can't look to the left or right or I will start spinning. They do take a toll on the brain and wear me out for a while.

I have had moments when I thought uh-oh hear it comes and it only lasts about 10 seconds. But, they don't wipe me out.

    Are you taking an anti-viral?

Totally normal, I get this all the time. I happen to believe it is not Menieres but this is vestibular migraines. lights, sounds, food smells and chemical smells and music will set this off on me.

The last time I had vertigo was like that. It was in August, we were rushing around to get going on a camping trip. I opened the refrigerator door and felt like the whole world tilted about 45 degrees and started spinning fast. I said something like "Whoa!" and had to get down on my knees, still gripping the refrigerator. My husband came over to help, and then it was done. It was both one of the most quick starts and definitely the most quick stop to vertigo for me.

I felt off and tired for the rest of the day. I don't usually feel off after a vertigo spell (mine are from MAV or BPPV), so I thought maybe that one was Meniere's. That was when I first started anti-virals and was taking Acyclovir.

I do have a lot of times still where momentarily I feel dizzy. I think that is probably MAV.

Look into BPVV - those vertigo attacks cause the room to spin just like Meniere's but each one lasts for typically less than a couple of minutes. If so, there are some exercises that help control those.

    Good luck.

We all need to remember to drink lots
Of Water especially when taking AV's

    Sometimes in the fAll
And winter we feel like we don't need as much
Water but don't let cold weather fool you

If you get chapped lips that is a good sign you
    Are not drinking enough

Lack of water can bring on dizzy spells

I have had those before too Shawry, came on as fast as if a gust blew thru my head, had to grab the table to keep from hitting the floor. Some have these and actually black out, those are called "drop attacks", they come on fast with no warning. I never blacked out but suddenly felt strong dizziness shoot thru my head and felt like the floor had shot out from under me. Mine are triggered by things I am sensitive to and if already not well overall it makes me more susceptible to this happening.
