Antivirals with Lysine

As an originator here many years ago of the promotion of lysine as an effective (albeit often slow and lengthy) treatment for the herpes viral infections that are a prime cause of Meniere's symptoms, I can state clearly that, yes, concomitant (at the same time) use of lysine and prescription anti-viral drugs is effective, without complications.

This is because prescription antiherpetic drugs, such as acyclovir, suppress herpes virus replication differently from how lysine accomplishes this. They do not compete with each other. They work in different, complementary ways.

Now it is clear that antiherpetic drugs such as acyclovir and the others usually act faster in turning down or turning off herpes virus replication, compared to lysine’s slower outcomes.

But if I had Meniere’s symptoms today (I do not, because of my regimen: http://www.zoominternet.net/~kcshop/JOH.pdf), I’d strongly elect to take both prescription antiherpetics, along with 3000 mgs of lysine (in three divided 1000 mg doses without food).

I keep detailed records of regimen user accounts that are emailed to me, or posted online. Many have recounted the successes of using both the regimen and prescription antiherpetics.

Meniere’s is a very difficult disease to treat. My personal research, with personal experimentation over a 10-yr period, showed that attacking the symptoms from multiple approaches was most effective (hence, the many elements in my regimen). Combining lysine with prescription antiviral drugs is very useful.

My current clinic (Mayo) is reluctant in prescribing antivirals. Have you seen anyone benefit taking Lysine alone, and if so, at what dose? Worth trying?

The reluctance of any professional at the Mayo Clinic to refuse to prescribe antiherpetics for Meniere's is just plainly unprofessional. The documentation and efficacy and safety of these are here:

But are there any cases of lysine, alone, bringing relief? Yes there are, dozens upon dozens. I have over two hundred accounts from users of my regimen, stating that it has brought welcome symptomatic relief. The prime (but not sole) element of the regimen is 3000 mg of lysine taken daily, as described here:

Now lysine almost always acts more slowly than acyclovir and the other antiherpetics, so be aware of that.

And when used alone, without the other elements of the regimen, relief also is slower or less complete.

Ideally, you'd take both the elements of the regimen and a prescribed antiherpetic drug.
