Bet you can't wait! Today is cookie day. Just waiting for daughter to wake up after clubbing last night. Sighs Want to get this done!
I wonder why the long wait? Does it have to get worse before it can be made better? We went out and cut a big load of firewood. Snow is coming.
Coming down from a long day. Daughters mouth started hemmoraging and she passed out. Back to the oral surgeon and put her out again to stitch it up. Let me tell you all something,,when your kid passes out in your arms...well it's a bad, bad thing. I don't ever want a repeat.
I bet it's real, cozy with the fires going. It must smell good, too. You pull out a fur rug or blanket to lay in front of the Fire. How much snow?
I've been cooking all morning for Thanksgiving. Also doing prep stuff like cutting and chopping veggies and putting them in zip locs. Since I bought a huge turkey, I have to get up at 3:00 to get it cooked in time to bring to sons. Lots of work but lots of love goes into it!
I usually read the package, but that sounds close to it. Make sure you put tin foil over those legs so they don't burn and dry out. Take it off about 1 1/2 hours before you take the bird out! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
It melted? That's terrific! We didn't get anything but rain and it's still raining. Upstate they got about 6 inches.
Took a nap. Love to nap with rain pattering on the windows. I feel much better today, but it was a quiet day.
Bumble bea I plaster my turkey with bacon and cover it with foil. Then I take the foil off an hour before its done the bacon frys into the skin. The kids fight over the bacon. I just have never cooked one that big yet. usually its 18pds and not a 5 hour turkey know what I mean?
I know what you mean! This is the first time I'm Roasting mine in a confection oven so I think it will cook faster. Sorry but I don't like bacon on it. If my kids want bacon I'd cook it separate. I stick butter under the skin. I rub margarine all over that turkey and I spice it with pepper and Paprika. I only foil the legs because they always seem to cook faster and get dried out. You'll do fine, just be prepared time wise to give it extra time. My turkey has printed on it time to bake per pound, stuffed or unstuffed check yours. I also make a plain sage stuffing made with chicken broth. I make it pretty plain since the other dishes are so varied. I getting up at 3:30am and hubby says to wake him up so he can help so we can get back to sleep quickly. Then I'll get up at 11:00 to fix up what I didn't get done today. We're supposed to be at the Newlyweds at 2:00. I think I've got it planned right. We will see. The only thing is I will never have time to get dressed up, hair done nice (it'll be in a ponytail) and no make up except for permanent eyeliner,,thank goodness I have that!
