Hello a question for those of you who take the JOH regiment and have had a dental procedure done like the replacement of a bridge. Did you stop the supplements before the procedure? The last time I went to have my teeth cleaned they asked me if I was on Coumadin since I bled more than normal and the answer is no. I am currently only taking the supplements. This procedure will last about an hour and a half and involves injections etc. Thanks n have a great day.
il Tons of things thin the blood. You can add fish oil, aspirin, advil etc etc. You need disclose everything you are taking before any kind of surgery and if the dentist or dr doesnt know, do your own research. It is especially important too for people like my husband who already take a blood thinner, even aspirin, to make sure they are not inadvertantly doubling up on that aspect.
For dental procedures, such as tooth extraction my dr said I needed to be off coumidin for three days
If you are having a surgical procedure, go off the vinpocetine (minor problem) and the vitamin E and ginkgo (major concern). --John of Ohio
Laser surgery in the eye is surgery, where blood vessels are opened. So, yes, go off the listed substances. --John of Ohio
Be sure to discuss it with your doctor/dentist before hand as well. They may wish to take other precautions as well.
