Hi all, for those of you who have had the ear tubes put in, can you describe your symptoms post-tube?
I don't think it had any effect on my symptoms in retrospect. I think the effect was more psychological. If I could hold my nose and move air through the tube/grommet, I felt like it was functioning and serving a purpose and perhaps that alone made me feel that it was helping. They get plugged up a lot though and when they did. I felt like that instantly made me feel worse. I had several of them over 10 years as they do fall out rather easily. The last one was attached with stitches so it stayed in a little longer. Anything is worth a try with this effing disease. Good luck, Kevin
Hi Bubba. I had tubes for many years in order to use the Meniett device, which I still do regularly. However, they fall out easily and having them replaced was a chore. At some point a tube fell out and the hole has never healed. I can still use the Meniett because the hole in my eardrum acts as a tube. The bad news is that if I get any water in my ear I can get an infection. I had to have a special earplug made, molded to my ear. I thought having the tube in helped relieve some of the pressure and fullness. Like Kevin said, that could have all been in my head. Margie
