I have a bad tooth that may need pulled and some that will need fillings. Today when I had an x-ray I was standing and you bite this thing then the machine rotates around your head from side to front to side. Can we say DIZZY Nausea and almost falling. The nurse had my glasses in her pocket and walked away without giving them back saying follow me. I held onto the walls trying not to pitch forward feeling blind and deaf as I went because I had to take aids out too. She was so horrified she walked away with my glasses was kind of funny after my head stopped reeling. Anyway, if just that made me sick and ill how am I going to do when work is actually done! I am thinking I will need a ride to and from. Anyone have suggestions?

Karen I'd ask your dentist if he would lower the back of the dental chair only as far as is necessary for him to be able to work on your teeth. Keeping you as upright as possible might help with the possibility of becoming dizzy during your procedure.

Also, I don't know if you take Valium for your MM but a tablet ahead of time might help to calm any anxiety you might have which could lead to an increase in dizziness and feeling ill. I'd call your doctor and get his okay first though.

    Best of luck to you!

Perhaps using a sleep mask that would prevent the light and the movements around you from triggering anything? A little freaky to not have your eyes open at the dentist...but it might help.

I have my dental technician lower the chair only as much as I can tolerate. I also wash my hair at home while showering before going for a haircut as I will not lay back with my neck on that board and my head over the sink. That's a no-no for me.

Monday I had laser surgery on my left eye. Talk about a bright light. I felt so weird that I went straight to bed after my son drove me home. Stayed in bed all night. Felt okay the next day, thank goodness.

I recently had a bridge replaced n the assistant placed a towel under my neck ---that helped me immensely
It kept my neck straight and eliminated the nausea and dizziness
I also have trouble at the hair dresser so have asked her to do the same, it makes it doable.

Tell the dentist to warn you before moving the chair- getting moved or tipped without warning makes me spin.
