Here's the dilemma. We will be having a few people coming for the holiday and we don't like them not to get a gift. There's also a possibility of others popping in. It happens here as everybody knows we always have enough food and a good time. They usually bring a bottle of something and usually a hostess gift. For guys I was thinking scarves and for women I was thinking either scarves or scented candles. Something's that if not given as a gift will still be useable but not too expensive. So all you guys and girls out there, I'd like to know if you have any other ideas or if you like mine. I swear, one more shopping trip and I'm DONE!!
At my age I would think your gift of opening your home and your friendship is the best gift of all. Take the money you would spend and donate to a charity in the name of friendship.
Always remember it's not what's under the tree but rather whose around it that matters. I agree with Red! The kids will open their gifts and then from 11-4 SIL and I will be over volunteering at the Children's Hospital, it really puts things in perspective for me. Then back home for dinner with my brother and mother who is coming down from D.C. But yea, the scarfs sound good, I could always use one if I stop in on a cold winter night on my way up to Boston.
BD, Did you not get your package yet? LMAO! Red and BD, what you say is very true. We do donate to the Wounded Warriors Project. It's a very worthy cause. In the spirit of the season, we like everybody exchanging gifts as well.,and the extra thought of giving to someone not expecting something is very rewarding in itself.
I did, thanks! Keep an eye out for your Card, there is a little something in there or you. Don't tell hubby. Love the wounded warriors project! Awesome charity and a good cause.
Did you get the blanket they send? It's a very worthy cause.mwe need to support those who fight for our country. Vicki...I knew I liked you for more than one reason!
Bea I make scrappy candle mats with quilt left overs. However I was a friends house one year and she had made up little boxes she got at the dollar store with hot chocolate, marshmellows and microwave popcorn in each box she separated the popcorn and chocolate and put the mellows in little baggys. She had also put a cheap cup from the thrift store in each box. Made a nice unisex gift.
Next Friday,12/26,my daughter has the day off. We'll both be going to a local tire store where she'll be giving me my Christmas present,2 front tires plus the alignment.I still haven't bought her anything for Christmas.I may take her to Victoria's Secret, that way she can get whatever she likes.I enjoy looking through their catalogue.Oo-la-la!
It came today!!! All I have to say is that red bow looked mighty tiny wrapped around such a big package. I'll treasure it always. You're the best!!
hehe thanks Bea Yup I let my beagles snuggle with the blanket, its so soft! I agree 100% when I see the commercials for wounded warriors project it just tugs at my heart. We owe them so much!
