I've had steroid injections before and they work fantastic, however the cost is very high. I've read a little about getting a tube inserted in to the problem ear and manually doing drops when necessary. Has anyone tried the drops before vs. injections and what has been your experience?

I've done the same as you and with the same results so I had the tubes put in and did the drops. It worked just as well.
However, the tubes may fall out and have to be replaced. Worse case scenario is that a tube falls out and the hole doesn't heal and you need a procedure called Tympanoplasty. I had that once. I did the drops for 4 years.

Now I'm on an antiviral treatment with much better and long lasting results.

If I had to do it over, I would have went straight to the antivirals. I don't believe antivirals were being widely used back then. I've had Menieres for 15 years.

Thank you very much for the feedback. I read from a couple other posts about the tubes falling out too. Is there any particular antivirals you recommend? I don't know much about them. I've only started the injections and before then I only followed my diet, allergy shots, etc. Never tried anything else.

Thank you John! I've been reading up on your regiment and going to give it a go. I'll let you know how it's going.
