I only started taking antivirals to get rid of the aural fullness. I had only had 6 bouts of vertigo over a two year period. But, my hearing was fine. Then I got aural fullness. Acyclovir helped clear my ear but, then I was having vertigo every or every other day. The clearness only lasted a week.

I started JOH's Regimen and along with the acyclovir and even added the vitacost's pine bark. I was still having lots of vertigo.

A couple of months ago ( beginning of November ) I started valacyclovir ( valtrex ) along with most of JOH's Regimen and my ear went clear for two weeks. November 20th was my last vertigo attack. My ear has been full since November 20th and tinnitus is going nuts. But, no vertigo!!

I have ordered the pycnogenol this time and not vitacost's pine bark. I'm also taking Everything on JOH's regimen and Vitamin D3. I don't do the gingko.

    Hi Dennis,

someone from Germany over here as well.
When I found this forum first and came a cross the acyclovir I also talked about that with my doctors (yup, i had four of them) and actually none of them was really open for prescribing it. I got tested on herpes viruses etc. but none of them was convinced that giving aciclovir or any antiviral at a phase with inactive viruses is a good idea when weighing the benefits and the possible side effects. They also believed in an upbuilding of resistance to antivirals (just like antibiotics), so they were hesitant.
    Where exactly are you located?
