I was taking Advil PM. Now I'm using Aleve PM.

Yes, they both help me to fall asleep and stay asleep. No problems. I just lean more towards Aleve products.

    Having problems sleeping?

Ototoxic drugs..you should at least know about them since the issue is the ears here…beware and I totally get the need for some quick relief...

i'm glad you are sleeping better. Sleep is good.

What I was interested in was your statement about the tinnitus going away.

For sleep I recommend the Melatonin. Side effects are Nil. And it works!! And it's Cheap!!

Yes, one thing I did notice with either one was that I didn't wake up with that stuffy feeling. No post nasal drip, and no tinnitus.

Please remember I am also on the antivirals although I don't know if one has anything to do with the other.

I do know that if I don't get a goods nights rest, I tend to feel off the next day.

Yikes! Hollyflo----You are right------I had a headache last night. I had been exercising my shoulders at the gym the day before and the muscles were really tight and causing a headache. I was going to band practice and I didn't want to have a headache, so I took two Naproxin. Headache went away........But, this morning I woke up with very low hearing and some fullness. No more Naproxin for me.

I don't usually get headaches, which is wonderful. But, next time I'll try to relax with a drink. (adult beverage)

Many prescribed medications also say, "may cause dizziness." We take them for Menieres and for other things.

Attached is a list of the medications that have been proven to cause ear damage…scary…make me wonder if the rise of MM might have a drug overuse cause…thoughts?

Drug-induced ototoxicity usually results only in deafness, without typical Meniere's symptoms such as hydrops, vertigo, and tinnitus. Such toxicity is also usually bilateral.

I beg to differ on this. Intrarympanic Gentamicin is a method of treatment for menieres and is a self induced ototoxocity to kill the balance nerve.

Intramuscular Streptomycin is used at House Ear to deaden both balance nerves for bilateral mm. The treatment has been around many years.

I believe ototoxocity can and may cause deafness but it's primary side effect is vestibular/ balance damage.

    Respectfully,
    BD
