I stumbled upon this and found all of this it very interesting, perhaps this culd be applies to Meniere's as well? http://simmaronresearch.com/tag/hsv/ One of Pridgen’s patent applications suggests that one of his unique insights has been to combine valacyclovir (valtrex) with an anti-inflammatory, Celecoxib (Celebrex) that has antiviral properties. Other combinations are being tested and Pridgen stated they have not released the make-up of IMC formulation used in the trial. It’s not clear, then, what drugs at what doses were used in the study or which will prove most effective. Celexcoxib (Celebrex) is a non-steroidal antinflammatory (NSAID) COX-2 inhibitor usually used in the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, acute pain, painful menstruation and menstrual symptoms. It down regulates the activity of inflammation producing cells. Pridgen proposes that the two drugs hit the virus at different stages of its life-cycle. Pummeling the virus with that one-two punch, he believes, will finally stop the virus from reactivating. - See more at: http://simmaronresearch.com/tag/hsv/#sthash.5GxqZF3J.dpuf
very and it ties in the gut, IBS etc the issues many of us with MM have. Amazing if it can stop the HSV from reactivating.
Here is the phase 2 study http://acrabstracts.org/abstracts/a-combination-of-celecoxib-and-famciclovir-is-efficacious-in-the-treatment-of-fibromyalgia-results-of-a-phase-iia-randomized-double-blind-placebo-controlled-study/
what is alos interesting is they found HSV1 in the gut of people with fibromyalgia and they believe HSV1 causes many other diseases like Alzheimer's among others. I wonder if those of us who have MM caused by HSV and have stomach issues like I do have HSV in our gut as well.. "Not just Fibromyalgia Pridgen and Duffy have their eyes on more than Fibromyalgia. Pridgen’s provisional patent proposes this treatment will work for chronic fatigue syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic pain, chronic headache, chronic neck pain, chronic back pain, chronic depression, chronic clinical anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), brain fog, cognitive dysfunction and chronic interstitial cystitis" - See more at: http://simmaronresearch.com/tag/hsv/#sthash.5GxqZF3J.bP9PdOLh.dpuf
Very interesting. And talk of AVs together with control of disregulated immune systems ties in with the work of ‘he who shall not be named’.
The more I think about it, HSV causing many diseases such as Alzheimer, fibromyalgia, IBS and others makes sense, since the majority of the population tests positive for HSV, why would it only cause MM, and especially HSV is found in different parts of the body, respiratory tract, stomach, esophagus, ear etc. It is most likely the cause of many other diseases (where they don't know how or why people get them) besides MM, it makes so much sense to me.
I agree I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole BUT the concept is very enlightening, I wonder though once it stops the HSV from reactivating anymore if one needs to be on that combo medication.
JOH will be along soon and maybe he has some insight into this as a professional biologist. John? What are your thoughts my friend.
I hope this isn't taken the wrong way, I just want clarification. I thought JOH was a biology teacher not a biologist.
For the record, I am both a practicing professional biologist, and a retired biology teacher. My professional involvements and contributions are too detailed to list out here; and they are in a biological field not much related to otology. No, I won't conjecture on the pros and cons of Celebrex for MM. Side effects are noteworthy, but I'll let those who have experienced them elaborate on the matter. --John of Ohio
I agree about the side effects of Celebrex, I did search for natural anti inflammatories and there are many that do the same as Celebrex so they say.
