Thanks Vicki, My father-in-law says, " 40 years of marriage, that's good, but I've been married 60 years." And, I said, " yeah, to three different women." That's not the same. Hehehe
keep us posted on your regime! 36 yrs for me; must admit dragging around that ball and chain all these years has kept my leg in shape
Hi Santa, I was just wondering how you are feeling. I hope you are still feeling good. I am really interested still in the new supplement you are taking because I have been having an awful time with ear fullness the past few weeks. I have tried cutting out caffeine before, too, but did not notice a difference. I don't know if I waited long enough though, I think I gave in after about 4 days. Coffee is my weakness. Sigh.
Good News!!! I was going to go until March 18th before re-introducing alcohol. But last Thursday, Fri, Sat and Sunday my wife and I celebrated our 40th anniversary. We camped at a beautiful state park in north Florida. We had drinks every night. Vodka and some beer. I also had coffee every morning. Drinking is not the good news; although, sometimes it really is nice to have a drink or two. The good news is I have been clear ear for 15 days and no dizzies, no vertigo and no brain fog. I am giving credit to OPC, which is Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins. Dr. Masquelier's formula for extracting the goodies from French Maritime Pine Bark and Grape Seed Bark. Of course, I am not taking anything away from my other supplements which could also be helping. But, I haven't had this kind of relief ( relief that has lasted more than two weeks) in over 8 months. I have run out of lysine and vitamin C and haven't taken any for 5 days. My ear is clear and my ability to hear is improving. The tinnitus is very low. I don't even know it's there most of the time. I don't need to wear an ear plug when I am doing my acoustic music and I am listening to the radio or cd's again when I am driving. I still wear ear plugs when playing with the band. I can't wait to hear other's reports. Remember if you try this don't be alarmed-- about the third day when your ear goes crazy and you get a little dizzy/vertigo like feelings. That just means it is the beginning of the end. The end of suffering. I hope everyone that tries OPC gets the same results as I. I am not running a blog or working for this company. I am only trying to help. Good Health To All!!
Good to hear. I had already decided to try your brand after my current bottle of pycnogenol ran out. Now I might have to give it a whirl sooner. So happy for you Santa!
Awesome! I am so happy for you. I am definitely going to give that supplement a try. My fullness/roaring has been awful lately.
WebMD says pycnogenol can cause dizziness, gut problems, headache, and mouth ulcers. I'm taking 200MG a day and don't experience any side affects at all.
I'm guessing everything has side effects. But, we have to measure the benefits against the side effects. Earlier in this thread I listed all of the ingredients in my regimen. Many of the side effects of those supplements are listed on webmd. Everybody reacts differently. I haven't had any bad side effects from any. The OPC isn't causing any side effects. I have been on it for three weeks and the results are phenomenal. I'm still taking the other supplements except I ran out of lysine and vitamin C about six days ago.
End of the beginning…URG. So I had great improvement in MM symptoms after being on JOH and AV's about 60 days in then fell off in the last week or so. My MD's want me to keep trying different drugs and I think maybe the cocktail of these in any given 24 hours is too much and I respond in my weakest link..thine right ear. Most recent addition is Wellbutrin recommended by the lovely Kenneth Erickson for cognitive impairment. Been about 10 days on Wellbutrin with MM symptom worsening although headaches way down but also extreme insomnia. Then a new drug for sleep and the MM and MAV symptoms back to almost where they were where upon diagnosis. Truly discouraged. ??? So, weening off the Wellbutrin to see if the tinnitus quiets down and the on-the-verge-vertigo ceases both of these at an all-time high. Santa, I went onto Amazon to see about OPC and there are quite a number of brands. Sorry if you already posted this but I missed..part of the new cognitive challenge..but what brand did you get and where did you find it please?
Hi Holly, Its been three weeks now and 3 days. The first three days I didn't feel anything. the fourth day was when my ear went crazy and I had some slight vertigo which a meclizine kept me from getting real bad. The last three weeks have been the best in over 8 months. No brain fog, no vertigo, and real low tinnitus. My hearing is way better. I am enjoying music again. http://www.hbcprotocols.com/products-OPC180.html This is the brand I am using. It's not called "pycnogenol." It's OPC - Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins I hope you get the same results I am having. I am loving life again!!
Thank you Vicki and Nicmgr I hope OPC helps everyone like it's helped me. I've been through the gamut of weather changes and now my blue car is green from pollen. The weather is not a factor anymore.
Alcohol doesn't affect my symptoms but I have to say Caffeine is a killer for triggering symptoms. After not having caffeine for so long, one cup makes my heart race and gives me trembles! Good luck!
I check back every day to see if you have an update, Santa. I love seeing your happy updates. It is also giving me a lot of hope. I am so anxious to order the OPCs but I am trying to hold out just a little longer. I know I have talked a lot in the past about how I am nursing my son, and I am trying to reach my goal of 1 year. And believe it or not, he turns 1 in just 37 days! Time really does fly. But of course at times it seems to really be dragging because of how limited I am on anything I can take for symptoms. Anyway, I don't mean to hijack your thread. I am happy for you!
Hi-Jack away Redbird. I very much appreciate Mothers who care enough to give their children the very best start in life. Once you reach your goal it's going to be hard to stop for both of you. Good luck with that. But, you can explain to your child that Mommy needs to take some medicine and the medicine might not be good for your child. Oh, wait, your child is only one. It's gonna be rough. There is nothing more precious than mother/child bonding through breast feeding. I was so jealous of my wife and our children having that bond that I could not. OK, back to MM. The OPC is still working. I'm loving it. I can't wait to hear if others are going to have the same results as I.
