Deadeye, I haven't heard of Dr Burcon but I have been treated with Nucca/Upper Cervical (each doctor calls it a little different). I am not sure the connection between my adjustments and current status - but I can confirm that since i started the adjustments I have less headaches, neck aches and it did totally fix the remaining limp I had after tearing my ACL.

I would say that if you are not close to MI, most likely you may be able to find a similar doctor/practice more near you to give it a try.

    Good luck!

I have. Read his paper just on Friday. I found a chiropractor in my area that has had success treating menieres and I'm totally going to see him asap. I have totally had the kind of head and neck trauma burcon describes. And mine was 16 years prior to the onset of menieres symptoms, very in line with the 15 years he describes as average for his patients.

Deadeye, know that while in the same "family" as a chiropractor the one who specializes in adjustment of the Atlas is different. Adjustments are not the same (cracking) as a standard chiropractor and adjustments are on the neck area only. Also both of the Nucca specialists I have seen (first started in WA, now found one in VA since I moved) their goal is to get you in alignment and stay in alignment. Since I had over a year gap when I moved, I am still needing to be adjusted every month. (But was down to 1/qtr before I moved).

And I do believe that some doctors are better than others! :)

    Good luck.

I second the improvement of other issues (limps, ect) as well as inner ear symptoms with upper cervical care or nucca. Still it's a non traditional approach. At the least I'd think people with inner ear issues should be evaluated for TMJD. I was amazed how close the bony structures of the jaw are with the soft tissue and nerve structures of the inner ear. Close enough to cause inflammation and distorted signals? I don't know, interesting though.

I agree. I was evaluated for TMJ but it is not an issue for me. But while I don't have allergies (according to tests) I definitely have ongoing sinus issues and when they are inflamed/congested it is a major trigger for my Meniere's. And interesting (to me...my dr not so much) that my sinus when backed up also drains behind my left ear - which happens to be my bad ear. I see a connection. So my goal is to keep my sinus at bay as best as possible. I have NasaCort (over the counter), Flonase and Astepro. All sprays. They seem to do the best job in really helping the congestion.

And before Nucca I think I was just "used" to having a perpetual headache! Nice to know what it feels like without it. LOL

I went out there for an entire week and got treatment every day.He is a VERY nice man, very pleasant. However, it did not help me at all. In fact, my round of trying chiropractic of different types led only to my neck sounding like a box of rice krispies when I articulate it now. :( Just my experience, of course. Best of luck!

Hi Vicki! I am doing really well, thank you! I didn't feel much better after my first round of Orthokine, but at about the same time I started SS (not to be discussed on this forum), and about 4 months into that, and 3 months after my first round of Orthokine, my symptoms started to subside. I am happy to report that after having completed my second round of Orthokine and continuing SS, I have been virtually symptom free for over 5 months- something that hasn't happened in my (albeit brief) 2+ years with MD. I still have hearing loss in my bad ear and some tinnitus (mostly in my good ear, surprisingly), but it's completely manageable. I am not in any way limited in my daily life, which is such a dramatic change from just 9 months ago. And while I by no means am claiming that I am cured, I am enjoying this respite from symptoms and taking the time to get much, much healthier- an extraordinarily healthy diet (no bread, no pasta, no cheese, no meat- only organic, fresh, whole foods and whole grains), yoga, meditation, exercise, etc etc. I would like to be better prepared physically, emotionally, and spiritually in the event that my symptoms return, although I'm of course hopeful that they won't! Anyway, that's my story, and I didn't mean to hijack this thread! I haven't heard from anyone who has found relief with Burcon, so I'd be interested to know if it has helped anyone here on .org.
