I posted this also in the Livingroom section

    Hi Lisa,
You are not alone, we understand how frightening this disease is and are here for you.
Please make a thread in this section, I saw you posted in the database. The living room is where you will get more responses and suggestions.

I have great success with antivirals, so have many others. I have been symptom free for 2 years except for mild tinnitus. No vertigo attacks or dizziness since I started antivirals.

Dr Gacek wrote a great paper on antivirals and his success rate is about 90% You can find that in the database section

along with an even more informative articles documenting many doctors and studies showing a viral cause.

You should also look into MAV Migraine associated vertigo (headache not required) and see of any applies to you.

Many of us who have MM also have MAV

Thank you so much for you advise I didn't know that migraine
Could be the problem suffered terrible ones as a child but not anymore
Just headaches more often now will so ask about antiviral medication
Is there one most recommended? I see my dr April 2 the diuretic and diet is not
Helping wake up every morning with unclear hearing and now mild to tinitus thank you
    For you help :)

you're welcome Lisa, since you have a history of migraines and headaches MAV might be worth looking into too and the most common form of MAV happens w/o a headache, like I haveand control by avoiding food triggers.
Yes in Dr Gacek's paper and clinical practice he uses valcyclovir now but he used to use acyclovir(which I take)on page 104 in his pda he gives the doses for av used for MM

I would recommend you printing out Dr Gaceks paper and this one http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1568997212000092
and showing it to your Dr. a lot of doctors will not prescribe an antiviral for Meniere's and need to helped into getting them to agree to it.

Yes I intend on doing that Vicki if my otologist
    Does not prescribe I
Will ask my primary doctor . Have you had any success
With steriod injections? Scared to try but the
Prednisone I was originally put on (before
They thought menieres) stopped all symptoms

I never did anything for MM except the antivirals and for me no need to do anything else..so far. My symptoms are suppressed.
