i tried nucca with very limited success a couple of years ago. dr gregg in austin worked on me and she is a very sharp lady; she just told me about a dr rosa in new york that has an upright mri machine that can see things that haven't been available before; she was very excited about me making the trip up there and having him work on me; i was in a bad car wreck that probably brought on my menieres years ago. dr gregg was able to help me a couple of times but had troubling duplicating her success. there HAD to be something to it as my symptoms would melt away as i would make the 100 mile drive back home from her treatment; anyone have permanent relief from nucca? anyone heard of dr rosa? it's very expensive and i'm already on an expensive venture that is supposed to be a long haul but i'd try anything if it would work; i'm sick of being sick; wish i had a penny for every pill i've popped over the last 20 yrs; appreciate any and all thoughts; have a blessed Sunday!
I did some searching and heres a good article about that upright MRI machine http://finance.yahoo.com/news/fonar-upright-mri-scan-leads-110000006.html and here is where Dr. Rosa is located and his website http://traumaimagingfoundation.com/
Here is Haines page on cervical vertigo http://www.dizziness-and-balance.com/disorders/central/cervical/cervical.html
for you since you were in that terrible accident I think its worth a try to get that stand up MRI done by Dr Rosa to see if you have cervical issues, but ofc that's easy for me to say, but I'm sure its expensive and probably traveling involved for you. There are more articles about that particular MRI if you google it. maybe do that and can call Dr Rose for a consultation on phone usually those are free and get his input to see if its even worth considering.
Deadeye, it looks like the upright MRI machines are available throughout the country. It might make the most sense for you to find the imaging center close to you and then when you get the results try for a phone consult with Dr Rosa?
Good luck! Glad there was one close to you - at least you will have some info before you decide if you need to travel for treatment.
Thankfully, I have had relief from NUCCA chiropractic care. I have to go every two weeks for an adjustment, but it sure does make a difference in my quality of life. I also have had an upright MRI (Upright MRI Deerfield). I live in Michigan and traveled to Illinois last year to get the MRI done. I had to call the manufacturer to find the 5 that were located in the U.S. at that time (April 2014). Many people confuse the open MRI centers with the upright MRI. My chiropractor is Dr. Keith Denton and he is located in Monroe, MI. It might be worth it to have your doctor contact him for a consultation. Dr. Denton has patients referred to him from Mayo Clinic, England, all around the world for upper cervical chiropractic. Dr. Denton was able to make calculations for the initial adjustment from the MRI images as a detailed baseline. He takes xrays about every 6 months to ensure that I am on track.
