I have posted my entire story at my website, How I overcame MM 5 years ago and have been symptom free since. It was a long road, but very rewarding. Conventional medicine did nothing for me, so I took it upon myself to study, educate and listen to my body. There is hope my friends! http://joebongiorno.com/menieres-disease

Your story is what lead me to this forum around 6 weeks ago. The fact that you found relief without much help from western medicine lit a fire in me. And you are a musician. I play finger style guitar and the hearing loss impacts my ability to enjoy it. I'd have already done gent or had shunt surgery by now if not for your story. So happy there are those who have beat this thing without having to resort to destructive means. Gives me hope.

The advice section toward the end of your story on your website is almost exactly what I am doing right now. With the exception of trying one thing at a time. I'll do some elimination work after I am feeling better, assuming I find relief from one of these things, to discover which items had the greatest impact. And, if one only tries one thing at a time, then you potentially miss a multi-sourced meniere's solution. Maybe candida and herpes and an upper cervical misalignment are the combined problem. And only addressing them all simultaneously will offer a solution. :)

Thank you for your page. A random google search landed me on your page, and that helped me find some hope.

Your website also started me on the path to this forum.

Along with advice I found here from many and from research and experimentation on my own I have found relief from aural fullness and vertigo.

I still have some tinnitus. But, it's just the high pitched kind and not very loud.

My own research lead me to OPC. To find out more- go to post "beginning of the end"

    Abstract
AIM: The aim of this supplement registry was to evaluate the efficacy of the Pycnogenol® in improving cochlear flow and symptoms in a 6-month follow-up for patients with Meniere's disease (MD), tinnitus and cochlear hypoperfusion.

METHODS: Main signs/symptoms were considered: Spontaneous vertigo, positional vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, pressure in the ear, unsteady gait, associated clinical problems, alterations in daily life. All subjects were managed with the best available management (BM); one group used the supplement Pycnogenol (150 mg/day). Cochlear flow and tinnitus were also evaluated. Out of 120 patients incuded in the registry, 55 used Pycnogenol and 52 (controls) were managed only with BM.

RESULTS: There was a more significant improvement in all registry items at 3 and 6 months in the Pycnogenol group (P<0.05). The number of lost working days was lower in the Pycnogenol group. At 3 months, 45.4% of subjects using Pycnogenol were completely asymptomatic in comparison with 23.07% of controls. At 6 months 87.3% of the Pycnogenol subjects were asymptomatic compared with 34.6% of controls. Cochlear flow velocity was significantly better (higher flow, higher diastolic component) in the Pycnogenol group (P<0.05). The subjective tinnitus scale decreased in both groups (P<0.05); the decrease was more significant in Pycnogenol subjects (P<0.05) at 3 and 6 months.

CONCLUSION: Symptoms of Meniere's disease, flow at cochlear level and tinnitus improved in Pycnogenol subjects in comparison with best management.

At least it is an interesting read^^^^^
I am going to have my wife get the full study and text at Emory tomorrow.

This and the new surgery out of Canada are the only 2 things that have piqued my interest in a long long time.

If not for these 2 things the only thing that miami believe may help some are antivirals but I had Zero suscess with them.

    Be good

    Dear Joe

I am yet another one who started on this website after reading your inspiring story on your website. Thanks for this. It is great to see how many people you have already helped in some or many ways.

I have one question for you though: how long did you have your hearing loss for before it came back? Was your hearing loss cyclical as well like your other symptoms or was it more permanent?

I've had a hearing loss since a year ago - had an improvement 6 months ago but it has been back down again since. I'd like to know if it's possible to recover hearing even after several months/years.

    Thanks for your answer

I am "uping" this post again as I would be curious of the answer to my question above. I had posted a similar question onto your website but did not get an answer - so perhaps I'll be luckier this time :)

    thanks for sharing

    all the best
