hey iisa; actually there are more things going on in the menieres community than ever before; i truly believe in 5 yrs there will be much more effective treatments; turning 62 next month i wish they would hurry up;
Actually, no. He did not offer me any kind of treatment but it was before I started having my CH symptoms. I had just mentioned to him about how my left side of my jaw always pops and sometimes it gets really painful and "off track". It hasn't happened in probably a year but there are times where I can't close my jaw correctly for a few days and its incredibly painful. But what is interesting is that it is my left side, the same side as my CH.
I finally read this article, and one thing really jumped out at me... the mention of Bell's Palsy. I have had Bell's Palsy 2 times. Both times on the left side. Same side as the TMJ AND the Cochlear Hydrops.
I was never diagnosed with Bell's palsy, but did have a droopy eye lid and sensitivity on one side of my face, same side as my CH hearing loss. Those Symptoms have cleared up and hearing loss stabilized or improved with nucca chiro.
I know they say that Bell's Palsy might be cause by the herpes virus but I have tried the antiviral approach before. I was on acyclovir for a month and a half before I got pregnant with no change in my CH symptoms whatsoever, good or bad. I realize that it can take longer but I stopped the medicine when I got pregnant and have not been able to convince my doctor to let me try it again, since I had no change the first time. Anyway, one interesting thing to note is that I actually felt A LOT better for about 6 months while I was pregnant. Almost forgot I even had CH. I am thinking its because of the increased blood flow during pregnancy. I started feeling bad again in my last month but I also was retaining a ton of water. I had to wear flip-flops to work every day because my fat feet didn't fit in my shoes lol.
I'm sorry, I feel like I am taking over this thread and getting off topic a little bit. But to tie my last comment into the idea of chiropractic... I also wonder if I started feeling worse during my final month of pregnancy because carrying an 8 lb baby was putting a lot of strain on my back/neck?
RedBird - I would think that as you got near the end of your pregnancy you were also more tired which (for me) is a huge trigger. Wold think that the baby definitely could have caused your neck/back to be a bit out and/or stressed as well!
When my wife was toward the end of each of her pregnancies, she didn't sleep that well. She could never get comfortable. Yeah, that can't help with this condition... lol
Hi Lisa, I was treated by an Upper Cervical Care Doctor (which is different than NUCCA) by the name of Dr. Drew Hall in Los Angeles, CA after 2 years of Meniere's symptoms and after seeing this doctor in 8 days my symptoms have disappeared and it's been 7 months that I've been under his care and the symptoms (tinnitus, vertigo, pressure in my ear) have not returned. I have been treated by different Chiropractors since I was 10 years old and I'm 41 years old now, this treatment is completely different than any treatment I've ever received by a Chiropractor. I posted my story here on this forum under Upper Cervical Care - Cure for Meniere's Disease if you are interested in reading it. I wish you all the best!
I've posted about NUCCA in the past but wanted to re-post for this thread. I was diagnosed last year with MM. I strongly believe in NUCCA as well due to the great results I've received so far. The pressure in my ear was gone after the first visit and I have tinnitus once every 2 weeks only lasting for 10-15 seconds. I have not had a full blown vertigo attack since starting NUCCA but do get occasional dizziness. I'm also taking the JOH, doing low sodium diet, and cut out all processed foods. I really love my NUCCA because she is truly concerned about my health and researching all possible causes. I had a bad headache after my first two appointments due to the spinal column starting to become aligned therefore allowing more cerebral fluid through. I did 2 times a week for 3 weeks, then tapered to one and week and so forth.
Believe that is the same as Nucca, Blair, QSM3, etc...which are all focused on keeping atlas in line. Could be wrong, but would believe so.
Hello Viking Man. I recently came upon this thread and live in Denver and was curious about the cervical chiropractor you see/saw in 2015. Did you end up having any luck/is this someone you would recommend?
