It's been heavily to moderately overcast all day, yet a drop of rain has yet touched the ground. Warm gusts of northerly wind maintain a temperature almost indistinguishable from that of my body heat & the humidity remains deviant & low.

Tonight, if atmospheric conditions maintain, a waning crescent will render a thinning veil of cloud aglow; illuminating a light celestial blanket palatinate purple, overlaying a fine filter of mud cracked, liberty blue. The increasing wind will manipulate trees like cloaked ballerinas, their outline elegantly dancing & juxtaposing the fervent cloud cover beyond.

I'm slightly jealous of those who are geographically positioned to be able to view aurora with their naked eye. While thoroughly appreciated & enjoyed, having to watch remotely harbours deficiencies similar to those found in long distance relationships.

I want to view several billion tones of charged particles being funnelled by Earth's magnetosphere & subsequently slammed into our atmosphere rendering our molecules aglow first hand.

If only Australia were several degrees further south, I would be able to view the aurora australis as often as you do the aurora borealis. FML

Ever seen Saturn's aurora? Captured in ultraviolet wavelengths & combined with a visible wavelength image of Saturn itself, feast your eyes..

… with a diameter so large it becomes fit to use as a hoop to throw Earth into.

Residence of Newfoundland island, the far eastern fringe of Newfoundland & Labrador & maybe, just maybe, Saint John, Moncton, Halifax/Nova Scoria provinces will catch a slight glimpse of todays total solar eclipse, too.

I would love to be in Svalbard or the Faroe Islands right now.

It is a beautiful time of year in the Southeast.
70-80 degrees and everything turning green and blooming.

After spending 4 months of horrific NE weather, NSB weather is beyond beautiful!

It's been warming up nicely during the day but still cool at night (good sleeping weather!) Unfortunately, we've also been getting heavy rains and thunderstorms.

I'm sure it won't be long before tornado sirens start to pierce the air. Not looking forward to that but I suppose it's the price one pays for living in the stormy and unpredictable Midwest.

It's been drab, dreary, cold and rainy for the last three days. Hail storms all around us today. There have been constant severe storm warnings for one county or the other scrolling across the bottom of the tv screen.

I am thrilled, though, to see the rains have resulted in my rhubarb coming up. I've tried in the past to start a patch, with no luck. The plants I set out last summer made it through the winter. Yay!

I noticed that this year the weather pattern is really off.
During the winter season there were many weeks when the temps should have been low and they were high and visa versa.
Now we are only in May and we are going to top off at 90 degrees.

    Can't complain.

It's starting to get hot down in Dixie!!!
June, July and August are our hot months. Lots of swimming!! The other 9 months of the year are beautiful.

Personall I love the hot weather!!! It's the humidity I hate.
