As Bulldogs attempt to have a post of support and encouragement for Trisha got a little off track....starting again! TRISHA - I can only imagine the combination of strength, determination, concern, wariness, etc...that you are feeling as we get closer to your surgery date. But I have NO DOUBT that your decision to move to surgery IS the right choice for you. And as there are many on this board that have already gone that route VERY successfully, I hope that helps to put any concerns at rest. In no time you most likely be yet another non-sufferer that wonders why you waited so long! The absolute beauty of this board is that there ARE people who have gone down any path and most share their experience to help you know that they understand, and potentially offer some insights. That knowledge only will help you prepare for the "little" things the doctor forgets to mention! That alone will help to keep your mind clear, focused and non stressed. I am so very excited for you and that you have an opportunity to fix this darn disease in a way that works for you! GO TRISHA! You got this. (While I can't control others - I truly hope that everyone will respect the intent and keep your posts specific to encouraging and supporting Trisha!)
I was thinking of doing the same thing! Glad you did Trisha deserves a thread full of support and well wishes. I agree with everything nicgmer said. I too am very excited for you. From everything I have heard about Dr Rauch you are in great hands. Please keep us updated.
Great idea all around! Trisha, my girl, you see how many people are rooting for you?? You go girl!! Rock it!!
Thank You all so very much. I am a little nervous and scared but very excited at the same time. All i really want to be able to do again is enjoy the little things in life i have missed so much; such as ride my bike, going swimming, seeing a movie and most of all getting rid of the constant anxiety wondering if and when my shunt is going to fail. I have been taking public transportation and what i miss most is getting in a car and just going for a ride or to the park to walk my dog. I just know Dr. Rauch is the doctor for me, he gave me my options and made me feel hopeful. I will post back the first week or so in May to let everybody know how i am coming along. God Bless you all Trisha
To a nimble recovery & a life devoid of the symptoms we all so passionately despise. Thinking of you, Trisha.
I am excited for you. I wish you the best! I know it wasn't an easy decision to make but it definitely sounds like you are ready. Feel confident in your decision, you have a lot of people here supporting you.
Good Health to you Trisha!!! We all love you and support you! The route you are taking has helped many.
