If we arent supposed to have caffine, so we cant have coffee, tea, chocholate, etc. Bit isnt coffee, tea, soda etc diuretics, and isnt that supposed to help? I'm so confused.

Maybe the vasoconstrictor of caffeine outweighs any diuretic effect. Actually i read a study once measuring the diuretic effect of coffee and it was shown to be rather mild. You dont have to drink 3 cups of water to negate 3 cups of coffee. Some, like me, never got much effects from diuretics or caffeine. I drink a fair amount of coffee. If you react dont drink it.

I would assume that although caffeine works as a dieurtic it has other impacts. I know that while I didn't see a connection or shall I say improvement when I eliminated caffeine, I also know that some of my worst times were when I was also taking sudafed (trying to help with the ear pressure). As the sudafed can "speed" you up which is like caffeine, I figured that perhaps speeding up the body may not be positive for me. Not sure if this is "real" but certainly is how I felt.

I did some more research and found that yes caffine is a diuretic, but the reason for not having it is that it constricts blood flow by shrinking the vessels and capillaries. Thus not having caffine is better for blood flow and possibly even the tubes in your ears.
