I am wondering if "take Lysine on empty stomach" applies to meds as it does to food. I guess so, but it would be easier if not :)
Particularly, I have acyclovir on my mind.
Also, what about other components of the JOH regimen, may those be taken in the same time with Lysine?
    And finally... coffee? :)

I am in my fourth week of acyclovir treatment.
    Been three weeks on 3 x 800mg a day. Now I am on 2 x 800 mg a day.

I have no MM symptoms between vertigo/imbalance episodes apart of some high frequency tinnitus in my right (presumed bad) ear, and a very silent tinnitus in my left, so I cannot tell if I am getting better. If I am vertigo free for months I guess I could tell it is working...

I only have to report that on day 14 of my acyclovir treatment I experienced something I had never experienced before, that starting as a headache in right side of my head, followed by instability. I went to bed it did not develop into full blown episode. I was OK in the morning. I know some people feel worse after starting antivirals, but I wonder if the day 14 could be considered a "start".

    Thank you

I have forgotten to add that I plan to introduce Lysine as I decrease acyclovir

Lysine should be avoided with conventional foods, which contain proteins. If taken with foods, the lysine is digested and used by the body like other amino acid components of proteins. Little of it ends up circulating for any period in the blood, so it can't complicate herpes virus reproduction.

But this is not the case with the other regimen components, so they can be taken with food. Vinpocetine appears to work best when taken with food.

Lysine does not interfere or complicate the action of acyclovir. It can be taken along with it, creating two ways the herpes virus can be attacked.

    Thank you John.

To resume, I can take Lysine AND Acyclovir first thing in the morning, at least twenty minutes before breakfast, right?
