I'm still a little achy and chilled today but no worse than yesterday so I'm pretty sure it's not the actual flu that I'm suffering from as I'm usually a lot sicker than this when I have the flu. I was going to up my dosage of Lauricidin to a full teaspoon tomorrow but I think I'll wait until I'm feeling a little better to do that.

Day 13 though with no vertigo, the cold sores on my lips have healed and I don't feel any new ones coming on so I'm thrilled about that!
If they stay away I think I'll go out and get myself something pretty with all the money I'll save not having to buy a tube of Abreva every month. :D

My Meniere's symptoms are completely under control and utterly absent with my regimen (http://www.zoominternet.net/~kcshop/JOH.pdf).

I intend to use the monolaurin for an entirely unrelated condition; and I wish to ease into this new therapy incrementally, starting at a low dose.

I'm so excited to find this thread. Thanks Vicki, and to the others who have contributed here.

I've been reading up on this supplement on my own, and am more than willing to give it a try. I'm happy to post my results here as well.

    :)

Lulu .......you be careful about buying something pretty. I can tell by your avatar you are already pretty.

I'm still suffering from allergies. It's really gross. So much mucus.

My hearing is still fluctuating, but it never gets below %50 of right ear. Sometimes it is almost as good as right ear.

Well, it's Friday everyone have a great weekend.

Oh my, I believe Santa may be in need of an eye exam :) but I thank you for the compliment, kind sir.

Skye, my sweet friend, I SO hope you'll find some relief from this retched disease. You've endured more than your fair share of misery at the hands of the beast and I want nothing more than for you to be rid of him for good. ♥

Day 15 and still no vertigo (knock on wood!)

The aches and chills have let up so tomorrow I'll up my dosage to a full teaspoon. I had a bit of a mini spin yesterday while working in the yard and I felt my heart sink thinking I was about to have an attack but just that quickly it went away and I was fine again. I was able to finish my yard work with no problem and did a little happy dance too. :)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and to all of our lovely Moms here at the forum, whether you're the mother to precious children or fur babies, I wish you a very Happy Mother's Day tomorrow! xo

My thanks to Ray for sponsoring such a wonderful forum.

Today started off kind of ruff for me. My hearing in left ear was reduced to about %25 of right ear. I blame the downside on allergies and snot. Snot. I'm tired of giving it a nice name like mucus. It is snot and it's not a nice thing when there is way too much of it.

Ok, I'm over my rant........ Mucus is a wonderful thing. It is actually cleaning out the allergens.

Lulu ........ I am soooooo happy for you. I think you have come to the place I have come to. I don't think we are ever going to have vertigo again.

Stress, fatigue and barometric pressure changes are my biggest vertigo triggers and I’ve experienced plenty of all three recently. In the past ten days or so I’ve been through a couple of nasty thunderstorms and weather bad enough to warrant a tornado warning, the sudden passing of my 26 year old nephew, a ruptured water pipe that blew a hole in the drywall and flooded my laundry room, visits with my lawyer trying to settle my late brother’s estate and a very un-cooperative family member impeding my progress, trying to land a new contract for my cleaning company with a man who just seems to like going back and forth with me and some very restless nights with very little sleep but I’m pleased as punch to say that through all of it I've remained vertigo free! :)

I’m now on day 4 of taking the full one teaspoon maintenance dosage 3 times a day of Lauricidin. Had a little problem with achiness again (mostly in my legs) when I upped the dosage but it wasn’t quite as bad this time. I can’t say I feel great though. It’s almost as if there’s a war going on inside of me. I don't feel horrible....just kind of icky. It’s like the Lauricidin is trying to fight off the beast and the beast is pulling out all the stops trying to fight to save his own life. Hopefully the beast is armed with nothing more than a couple of throw pillows and a feather duster and the Lauricidin is packing some serious heat, a flame thrower and some nunchucks. :D

Anyway, I'm now at 19 days and counting with NO cold sores and NO vertigo, my friends! :)

Peace and joy to all of you and wishing you a wonderful day,
    Lulu ♥

Lulu I am so sorry to hear about your nephew, my condolences on such a loss.
and Oh My you sure had a run of stressful situations but I am sooo thrilled to hear you have not had any vertigo! That is wonderful, especially during this spring full of pollen in the air that is a big trigger for vertigo and other MM symptoms.

Fingers crossed you pass the 30 day mark w/o one and that you never have another!

I found this newsletter, although it is from a place selling vitamins this newsletter had some interesting information about monolaurin, Meniere's and lysine and HSV.

    http://countryhealth.tflmag.com/content/october-newsletter-2014

Country Health October 2014 Newsletter Cold Sores, Fever blisters, Shingles….and More By Angel Marcellus, CN

The herpes virus, the virus that causes cold sores, fever blister, shingles, chicken pox, Epstein-Barr, and genital herpes may also cause increased risk of cervical cancer in women or HIV infection if herpes sores are active. Other areas attacked by way of Epstein –Barr are infectious mononucleosis, neuromyasthenia, polymyalgia rheumatica and chronic fatigue symdrome, cancer, lymphomas and smooth muscle cell tumors in immunocompromised individuals. Autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus erythematosus may be activated by a herpes virus. Other diseases connected to the virus are Meniere’s disease and Bells- Palsy. Although its symptoms can range from all the above listed maladies, the virus is very contagious and the virus is able to lie dormant in the cells of the sensory nervous system only to return later in life.

Research by Dr. Kedar Adsure and associates at Kaiser –Permanente shows that every time a person has a cold sore or any other herpes outbreak the base of their BRAIN is inflamed.

Herpes can be considered a disease of the nerve and not the skin. This was the beginning of understanding all the different maladies caused by the herpes virus. THE FOOD CONNECTION Taking L-Lysine, an amino acid helps to keep the virus from up taking arginine, another amino acid which the virus uses for its growth and replication. By the same token, high arginine foods feed the virus. High arginine foods include chocolate, nuts and seeds, oatmeal, whole wheat, peas and peanuts, (which are a legume) seafoods especially tuna, salmon, trout, anchovies and halibut. High lysine foods include cheese, meat, and potatoes. All foods that compromise the immune system like sugar, alcohol or stimulants including caffeine, chocolate and cola drinks should be avoided if you suffer from outbreaks. Also citrus foods and tomatoes should be avoided when there are outbreaks. Besides L-Lysine a good source to push the virus deeper into remission is Monolaurin. Monolaurin is from coconut oil. The body converts a small part of coconut’s lauric acid into a monoglyceride called monolaurin. These monoglycerides are very powerful germ fighters. The way monolaurin kills bacteria and viruses is interesting. many bacteria and the herpes virus have a very flimsy membrane (envelope, skin). This enables them to easily penetrate their targets. Monolaurin penetrates the virus or bacterium molecule and disrupts the reproduction cycle and causes the cell to burst open and die. The blood stream takes the dead bacteria and viruses to the liver to be eliminated.

Research suggests that Monolaurin works on the following viruses:

    • Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) • Measles virus • Herpes simplex virus 1 • Herpes simplex virus 2 • Herpes vinidae(all) • Herpes lymphotropic Virus (Type 1) • Vesicular Stomatitis Virus • Visna virus • Cytomegalorvirus • Epstein-Barr Virus • Influenza Virus • Pneumonovirus • Sarcoma virus • Syncytial virus

Monolaurin is a very effective weapon in the arsenal of viral and bacterial destruction.

In conclusion: Eating high lysine food Avoiding high arginine food
    Taking L-Lysine
    Taking Monolaurin
Using lysine ointment, Melissa oils, golden salve or complete tissue and bone ointment (comfrey) externally (your choice)
Using these and following the dietary guidelines can shorten the duration of herpes outbreaks dramatically.
If the program (copies available) is followed strictly, the duration of outbreak can be minimal…1-3 weeks. -

Yeah, sure. I have been improving lately. Just that my new job is keeping me very busy.....

Now currently on 2 Vala X 500 mg in the late morning and 1 X 500 mg in the night.

After breakfast, i will take most of JOH pills, minus the gingko and MSM which I have not ordered. Thinking if i should just take together this coconut pills together with JOH?

    Hi Vicki,

No, I don't take allergy shots. My allergist says I am not allergic to anything. ( What does he know? )

Yesterday I went to the Dr and they said I have a bacterial infection and gave me an antibiotic. I am taking musinex, also. I still have lots of mucus.
Some people call it mucus, but it'snot.

Lulu, I am very happy for you.

Vicki- thanks for posting more info on monolaurin.
