Just when I seemed to be getting a much needed break from some of my mm symptoms I caught a terrible head cold. Coughing like crazy. Trying to get through it without cough meds as I'm afraid it will mess with my mm. Drinking warm honey water but not helping much. Any suggestions for natural remedies for coughing? Feeling like crap today!

Not a remedy for an existing cold, sadly.

But I've been taking 5000 IU of vitamin D-3 each day for about five years (at about 6 cents a day), and since then have never had a cold or flu. Do a search on how adequate vitamin D-3 (which is 5000 IU) really prevents colds, flues, and other diseases.

sinus rinses will help too and or holding your head over steam, covered with a towel.
Also my best friend/cousin/nurse told me this how to clear lungs of congestion and prevent pneumonia.

Take a deep breath in and on the exhale cough. That brings up all the nasty stuff that's deep down.

    Feel better! HUGS!

I am suffering from allergies. No Way could I have a cold. I am on valtrex and monolaurin.
But, it's almost like a cold.

My allergist suggested Flonase which you can buy over the counter, now. Also, flush out sinuses with a bulb syringe and saline solution. I asked, why not a Netty pot. He said because with a Netty pot you have to tilt your head to the side and that might allow mucus to go up the eustachien tube. With a syringe you just put it up snug to the top of your nose and squirt.

Watch out , be prepared for a gross site. It will clean out your sinuses. Stuff you can't blow out. Besides, my GP and my allergist say, Do not blow your nose, it will blow that crap up your eustachien tube and into your inner ear.
