Somehow, which I don't know how, I cracked the back of one of my front tooth. I am scared to death of the dentist and worried about that drop attack I had after root canal 2 years ago.
Time to increase my acyclovir because I get such anxiety attacks from dental work.

I'm pain from my tooth :(

    Wow, Vicki, can I relate!

My dentist ultimately let me decide to have 3 teeth pulled and I think I ,as have to go back and make it 4.

Here's the thing...I thought my medical would cover the oral surgery but they're saying only for wisdom teeth. I've maxed out my dental, so it'll be about $400 a tooth, and that doesn't cover the $125 consultation fee. I refuse to have teeth pulled without being put to sleep. I'm achy but dealing until I can figure something out.

I'm sorry you're in pain and I know that anxiety well. I actually shake all over when I go to the dentist, even if it's just a cleaning!

    (((( HUGS ))))

It's not the seeing that's a problem for me...it's those horrible sounds that even ear buds or plugs don't buffer.

And the feeling of those numbing needles, and the feeling of them pulling out my teeth...I'd rather have a colonoscopy and that's saying a lot! LOL!

I don't know what to do about this one.

    Credit cards are maxed out.
Most won't do installment plans either.

Good luck, Vicki, you're strong, you'll get through this.

I was up all night with horrible tooth pain then finally the pain started to subside at 6 AM but my face and nose is swollen. And its on the bad ear side and it is affecting my MM. My ear feels numb, loud tinnitus and been having split second attacks the last 2 days.

The dentist said my tooth is not cracked but there is a cavity high up in the gums and the cavity it splitting an opening in the tooth and an infection as well. He gave me antibiotics and I need to get the tooth pulled. It is a front tooth UGH So I am losing my hair and a front tooth. I'd cry if I wasn't in so much discomfort but crying would only made my face hurt worse.

If its not one thing its another. I just needed to vent.

I'm so sorry Vicki. I hate those quick spins (I call them yips). Especially after you have gone so long without vertigo it must be scarey. Maybe you should increase the acyclovir for a few days.

    Damn Vicki, that just sucks!!

They can't do a root canal and a crown?
If they pull it you could get a bridge. Something to think about.
They probably won't pull it until the infection goes away, right?

Sorry you're in so much pain, I feel you. (((( HUGS ))))

Santa, I'll look into that. Thank-you.

thanks Sharon and Bea, Yes Sharon I need to increase and Im sure its because the infection spread to my ear.
He said we can do root canal or extract but he said since the tooth is a little loose it might have to be pulled in a year or two, so we decided there is not point to root canal. and ypu we need to wait for the infection to calm down before it gets pulled.

I will be getting a permanent bridge. (I couldn't think of me going through getting an implant )But not sure how long I will need to walk around with an empty space in front and I have a fancy party to go to June 13th at the Jersey Shore the party takes place in a multi million dollar home! I was so looking forward to it, but if I don't have my bridge by then no way will I be seen in public.

I had the need for a bridge a couple years ago.
I'm going to warn you...the temporary bridge would not stay in at all, so I was without a tooth for almost a month.

If I had to choose again, I would go for the implant. At least that's permanent.
Cost would be a problem for me but some things you just have to do.

I hope the increase of AV's helps and I hope the antibiotic works quickly. It usually does for me.

I will get a permanent bridge in a couple of years but he rather not drill down two good teeth right now. I have a permanent bridge for over 40 years and its still holding strong.

Oh Vicki I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. Having an infection and a toothache is just the worst. I hope the antibiotics will get the infection under control soon and then maybe your dentist would be willing to wait until after the party next month to pull your tooth.

Sending a caring hug and healing thoughts to you. xo

Vicki, I am so sorry! I just read your note (have had some personal issues recently that have presented me from stopping by here). Antiobiotics should help with the pain. I hope I never have to be faced with the decision but "think" I would lean towards the implant.

I hope that this message finds you a little better at least.

Vicki, just checking in to see how your appointment went today?

Thank you nicmger! I just got home. I did a bit of shopping after the appointment.

It was a consultation today. He seemed ok, very friendly, so was his staff, my usual oral surgeon retired. So going to someone new its added anxiety on top of my already heightened anxiety. He explained everything to me and that the tooth will mostly crack when he takes it out but I should not be worried. He will get it all out. I went over all my fears health issues especially MM and that I can only take carbocaine w/o epinephrine. He said that's fine with him.

Now I just gotta get through this until after this is done.
