I am on 5th day of 3000 mg Valacyclovir and fairly miserable. I have been woozy and somewhat off balance all day. Only got real dizziness for a couple of 5 minute periods (I don't really get vertigo anymore although I can get much more off balance and dizzy than today). The tinnitus is at maximum all day and also very mild headache. I played tennis this morning and usually that will increase circulation or whatever and get me hearing a bit better and lower the tinnitus but today and yesterday, nothing helped. This is unusual for me. I almost feel that this much drugs in me gets my inner ear swollen with fluid. I want to quit but I have tried this far, I should keep going , right?
If you can hold out I would say try and stick it out It sounds like the antivirals is trying the kick some virus butt and the virus might be giving off nucleic acid in response. Some people get worse in the beginning which means the AV is doing its job. I know its not easy to do but if you can ride this out, hopefully very soon you will feel much better.
