Sharon you are very welcome. I am living proof too much arginine can bring on an attack. Last year I brought on a vertigo attack by eating too many walnuts and raisins everyday even on antivirals. That was the 1 and only vertigo attack I had since being on acyclovir and I did it to myself :(

Vicki's account of an attack after a period of good control by acyclovir brings out an extremely important point: the root-cause virus, one of any number of herpes viruses, is never eliminated, only controlled. Antiherpetic drugs, and the lysine in my regimen, merely suppress herpes activity. When conditions are favorable, as with a slug of arginine in the diet, the otherwise dormant herpes virus resumes pathogenic activity. Once you've had Meniere's, you will always have it --- but with modern approaches it can be continously suppressed. Diligence and understanding are required, along with the availablity of lysine (over the counter) and/or prescription antiherpetic drugs.

The suppression aspect is too true. As with any chronic condition some people experience setbacks or flare-ups.

I happen to be one of those people. However, the flare-ups I've experienced are minor compared to what I experienced before my antiviral treatment.

The Lysine plays a major part in suppression.

My cats have feline herpes virus. I give them the recommended dosage of Lysine. It's been 6 months symptom fee. However, we brought a new cat into the household and they got stressed which caused a flare-up. Antiviral eye drops for 3 days cleared that up where in the beginning the eye issue was daily.

Just proves the Lysine properties in suppressing the Herpes Virus is a great advance in treatment.

So true John that's why I posted the link hoping members would sign the petition for a clinical study by the FDA for DRACO. If it that ever comes to pass and lives up to what they say it can do then we will be rid of the virus in our inner ear for good, not just suppressing it.
