I started a thread like this at the old forum just a few days after becoming a member in 2010 as a way to sort of introduce myself, to get to know a little something about my fellow Menierians and to connect with them on a level beyond our everyday MM/MAV struggles. It turned out to be a lot of fun hearing about everyone’s hobbies, life adventures, families, pets, significant others, travels etc. So……tell me something about yourself! I guess since I started this thread I’ll get things rolling. I’m 53 years young I’m a native Ohioan who has lived here all of my life with the exception of 2 years I spent living in Kansas I’m the middle child and only daughter to my wonderful parents who I’m very blessed to still have in my life I have 2 brothers – one older who is deceased and one younger I have a 15 year old rescue cat named Emma who has been with me since she was just a little over 5 weeks old ♥ I love to laugh and I’m drawn to people who have a great sense of humor Lulu is a nickname my Mom gave me when I was a little girl because I loved watching Little Lulu cartoons (she still calls me Lulu to this day) I was a hairstylist for 25 years until the beast took me out of commission – now I run a small commercial cleaning company from my home I love to dance even though I have 2 left feet and stumble over them occasionally I play the guitar to the great dismay of my cat who doesn’t seem to appreciate her Mama’s playing very much I speak two other languages besides English (Italian and German) and usually manage to mangle all 3 I’m exactly 5 feet tall and was given the nickname Peanut when I was in grade school because I was the shortest person in my class I used to race in powder puff derbies when I was in my late teens and early 20’s I played softball and volleyball and was a cheerleader when I was in school I’ve taken numerous online classes from the University of Cincinnati because I believe we’re never too old or too young to learn something new I love to cook and bake One of the greatest vacations I ever took was a skiing trip with friends to the Colorado Rockies I went to a Meniere’s get together in Nashville a few years ago and it was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life and one I’ll never forget ♥ I love having a clean house but I’m not too crazy about cleaning it And finally – if I were to be granted one wish that would come true I would wish for all of you to be cured of MM and/or MAV so you’d be free of the beast forever Take care and be well everyone! Lulu ♥
Yours was so eloquent but I'll try. I've been married 37 years to my best friend. I have two grandsons who are the light of my life. I have one daughter still at home while she's in college. She's my ray of sunshine. We are becoming very good friends now that she's an adult. Can you tell that's she's the center of my world? I have a Maltese rescue that my son brought home, his dog, until he bought a house, moved out and left him here. Isn't that always the way? I have a huskie imported from Georgia and her breeder and I remain very close and chat on the phone for hours. I have two Ragdoll kittens that it took 3 years to find. A seal point and a mink. Brother and sister. I have a tomcat I rescues from a shelter when I got the husky and had to put an older dog down. And lastly, I have a Mainecoon cat the my son's girlfriend couldn't keep when they got an apt. The animals have replaced the children which is a source of humor for them. I love to read. I've got my little garden. I like to walk and sit in the woods, peaceful. I like to be on the beach especially when there's no one else there. I keep a clean house, too. I just have a schedule in my head of what gets done and when and that's how I do it. I like to cook and usually cook everyday, but I'm told I always make too much. I, too, enjoy baking but don't do it much in the summer. I like to sit around the fire pit and watch my kids in the spa. They never fail to crack me up. I like to laugh and have fun, though I do have days when I wallow. I like to help people who suffer with this disease and reach out when I can. I'd like to think I've made a difference in some of their lives. I've made some very good friends here and we stay in touch outside the virtual world. I'm always ready to make new friends. I'm very impulsive. I'm very impatient. I don't take kindly to criticism. I'm 57. I enjoy being here.
