Hi All Hope you are having a good day. Has anyone had any luck with acupuncture? I made an appointment for next week for my first visit. After talking with the person who will be doing the procedure she states she has helped others with the symptoms of Menieres so we shall see. Also going in to look at different hearing aids as the ones I have now do not seem to be helping much and esp with the tinnitus. Thank you.
I found it very good in the early stages once the acupuncturist had found the right points for me (which took about five visits to find), but not so useful later on.... thinking about it now I didn't actually make a real point of it with the acupuncturist so he could try different points after things had progress with my illness which may have helped....
I went for 12 weeks of acupunture treatment to a really well recommended acupuncture doctor--and also he fixed his own herbal mixture. Sorry to report it didn't help. He really tried too. As I've reported the 'shunt surgery' has stopped, so far, now 3 years, the vertigo--thank God! But---my quality of life isn't good to ongoing dizzyness daily from mild to severe. Balance issues off and on--not so much when out in the open but in stores, church, places that have lots of things that make one 'turn around to look or talk'! Mild to not so mild nausea off and on and after a really bad pressure in my head day and feeling lightheaded, I get a headache--not the Migraine like I used to get but enough that I need Xtra strength Tylenol and my eyes feel like they are soooo tired and heavy. I do have tinnitus, just not mind blowing as I used to have. I've tried the anti-virals, didn't work, have tried so many things--and I see my ent this week--so will see how my hearing tests out and if he has anything else to say. Since he recently sent out Valium to try to help with the dizziness--I think that is the 'treatment' he says either will or will not help. And he's a well known specialist in this field in the Midwest! Many folks go to him for the treatment of Meniere's. So--do hope you feel better and we all get some 'answers'!
