I thought this was interesting. There is a device, similar to CI, that has been approved by the FDA that when implanted would help to override the signals from our brain during a vertigo attack. Reading this it appears that one would activate it when an attack hits and the device would then send signals to override the mis firing signals. This was from University of Washington Medical Center.

My nephew lives out there and knows a guy who participated in the trials for this device and has been vertigo free since. I'm glad to hear it's finally getting approval.

I remember reading about this study.
But that's great that you know someone Sharon that has the implant still and is vrtigo free.

I'm wondering though if the FDA approved it back in 2010, why haven't we heard more about it and about Drs using it?

Thanks for posting the study nicmger :)

I'm also curious as to why we haven't heard more since 2010. But I'm always happy to hear that people much smarter than I are working on new innovative treatment options.

I remember reading about this. The only participant who posted about this on other forums never had an attack, as he went into remission.

I recall that too scott. But since the article says it was approved by the FDA 5 years ago, it must have been a successful trial with other participants.

As I said previously I am curious why we don't hear anything more about the approved device and it being used.

Don't be discouraged. There will certainly be a vestibular prosthetic available in the next 5-10 years. Dr. Charles Della Santina at Johns Hopkins is one of the pioneers.
