    I think the menthol does.

We used to boil a pot of water. Put a towel over the kids head and let them breathe that in, too.

We also used Vicks on the chest for congestion.

Like I said, old school. That's what we did before all these high-tech treatments came into effect.

Since my sinus issues were diagnosed LONG after they had been in place and I had chronic issues, my dr jumped straight to Augmentin. Usually within 2 days I feel much better on that.

I know you react (unfortunately) to many many things. But I will share that when I have my sinus issues and congestion, I love the Zicam Intense Sinus Relief gel. Squirt into the nose and intense it is! But while intense, it does the best job of all for clearing my sinus until the meds can clear the infection.

Menthol seems to be a common denominator!

Yes. I always liked the smell of Vicks. LOL But this Zicam gel is INTENSE. Name is not misleading. :) I picked one up for my sister a couple of months ago when she had a horrible cold and couldn't breathe at all. I "warned" her it was intense...but she sprayed, sniffed....then she said "OMG, whoa, that was intense". LOL But her nose was clear.

I'm improved today, cheeks swelling has gone down a lot and a little bit on my eyes, I can see a sliver of my upper eyelids today. The lymph node behind my ear is not sore. :)

    Doesn't monolaurin kill bacteria too?

supposed to but studies were in vitro supposed to kill fungal infections too and viruses. But people on the forums who are trying it are getting good results, we just don't know if it will kill their inner ear virus. But a blood test can tell that I think.

    Vicki,

A dab of Vicks under your nose will not hurt you.
If it bothers you, you just wipe and wash it off.

We used to use Vicks Vaporizers when our babies were sick.

hehe yup you did :) it says its good for:
For cold, flu, bronchitis, sinusitis, laryngitis, and allergy sufferers, this personal steam inhaler restores sufficient moisture to the lungs and respiratory tract. The patented plastic hood is contoured to cradle the face comfortably and directs warm moist air right into the nose and throat to temporarily relieve nasal, sinus, and chest congestion.

If it helps Ill let you all know because many of us suffer from sinus issues and allergies.

I just think it's funny that I used this for my kids for allergies and colds. My oldest is 35.

Some tried and true remedies are always the best.

    Hope you feel better soon!

    YAY!! Happy Breathing.

I love breathing. It's like my most favorite thing of all. I do it as often as I can. I'm like addicted to it. AAaaawwwhhhh! I just did it again.

    Good Health to All
