Does anyone ever get these after a flare up of dizziness and tinnitus? I used to get them. Long while back, went away , now they are back. I have very bad sinus and allergy problems along with vestibular meniers ...they are flashes of zig zag lights ,waves, blurred vision last for half hour or more, sometimes headache follows, other times not. I am terrified I am having a stroke.

I get one or two of those a year. It's like you're going blind- terrifying. But ever since I've been diagnosed with menieres I haven't had one. I have lots of allergy issues too, but the ocular migraines come from stress and rapid weather changes.

I too get ocular migraines. Have for a number of years. They are never accompanied by any more dizziness than I normally deal with (haven't had a full blown vertigo attack for several months now). They last half an hour or so, and then they are gone. A little anxiety about them, but it's mostly just annoying for me. I talked to my eye doctor about them once, and he told me is was an ocular migraine, and that it isn't anything to worry about. I just don't drive when they happen. :)

Vitolony - do you still feel good enough on a regular basis to drive, exercise, and stay "on the go?"

I know for me , I do not drive for the rest of the day after an ocular event..am too scared I will get another one while driving...the next day I feel off balance, sort of brain foggy, usually by the end of that day I can drive.weird, but when I drive I do not get dizzy or have tinnitus, maybe because my brain is occupied with something that requires concentration??

Related to ocular migraines? Or mm? I'm basically completely active. I do sometimes feel off balance enough that I don't feel up to going places. The ocular migraines are pretty much a non-issue for me. They don't happen that often.

I get them occasionally, the first time I had one, I had absolutely no idea what it was, and it scared me pretty bad. I felt like I was going blind, the area inside the prism area was so blurred, I could not make out anything. I am glad it was in only one eye. I am glad the I was able to Google it and figure out what it was, and also glad the only happen every few months.

I did mean in general. Menieres related.

I've had ocular migraines with out the headache for over 40 years. There is an increased incidence of Meniere's in people with migraines. Some ENTs think some Meniere's is due to a migraine attack on the inner ear.

    Best regards,

    Jim

I haven't heard ocular migraines and MM connected before. Vestibular migraines connected to MM for sure. does anyone know if MM and ocular migraines are connected to MM or read about it? I would be interested in knowing.

    Hi Vicki,

I read one medical article that said 10% of Meniere's patients have ocular migraines. Here is a link to a blog on Meniere's and ocular migraines.

How did you get your Hero status back?

    Best regards,

    Jim

This is a new forum platform, we all started again as newbies. You may not have 1000 posts on this version and that could be why.
