You can vote upto 3 times incase you have experienced more than one of these conditions BEFORE ever even knowing what Meniere's is! It would be interesting to see if there is any possible link between the two.

I had none of them, but I did have a lot of stomach problems and cold sores and got sick a lot like I still do before I got MM at age 13.

Vicki, I added "None" for you. It sucks that you have had those issues since the age of 13, but at least it's clear that herpes seemed to be the cause. Hoping to see more votes on this.

I had a few episodes of weird noises in My ear spread out over a few years. I also had tinnitus for a few years before the ear fullness and brain fog and vertigo attacks

I voted none of the above. What I did have was shingles in 1995 which was 10 years before my menieres /mav problems in 2005.
I believe that accumulated stress from a divorce, not seeing my kids daily, moving house and changing from employed to self employed all at the same time triggered the shingles virus to reactivate, but this time it lodged itself in my inner ear.

So for me it was definitely stress.

I had the first 3 , most people think m very anxious
As my personality trait even when I feel calm,
Drs see it right away lol and I try to be super
Calm so they don't shrug me off as being
A neurotic woman but they always pick up
On it, panic attacks on occasion accompanied
With hyperventilating . Stress causes so many
    Other problems.

Anxiety, panic attacks and depression. Yes. And actually I have felt so much better, ear wise, since starting Prozac 4 months ago.

None of those but did have high stress, lack of sleep, and crazy fatigue. In fact, both times I got a serious flare up of symptoms was when experiencing these conditions. This was also before antivirals and JOH.

Don't recall any major anxiety that was 'bad' prior to Meniere's. But--I had a bad case of facial shingles in 2006, and was diagnosed with Meniere's in 2008! Dr. said 'no connection'! He doesn't subscribe to the theory that Meniere's is viral related!
He is a well respected Neuro-ent in the midwest--connected to one of the best hospitals in the area and has done surgery on me for this condition--the Shunt procedure--so no more vertigo. But as you know from my posts I have some balance issues and am sooo dizzy most days and have nausea from mild to not so mild daily too. I have learned to 'go and do' and try to enjoy what I can. It's not fun for sure. Stress makes it worse of course--as we all know. I've tried anti-viral meds--from my primary, but those didn't help. I'm thankful for 'no vertigo' but boy this other daily stuff can 'get to you too'! I still think the Shingles was the start of it all! Just my opinion! :) And this does now cause 'alot of anxiety'--so Xanax is helpful with that.
