Not saying they will for everyone but they did for me, just like they started out of the blue they just stopped happening & that would be about eight years ago now after suffering from them on & off for about five years
My vertigo ceased in 2010 after 6 months of l-lysine usage. It has flared up once in a blue moon, including these past two weeks, and went away again after hitting the l-lysine. Just for fun I ordered the monolaurin yesterday why not.
I wish we would hear from people on monolaurin or coconut oil so we know if its a possible treatment or not.
Hi friends Sorry I haven’t posted an update recently. I’ve had a lot of irons in the fire that needed tending to in my personal life. Quick update: I’ve been vertigo free for a little over 4 months now (my last rotational vertigo attack was near the end of April.) I’m still taking 2 tsps of Monolaurin (Lauricidin) 3 times a day with meals. I have occasional dizzy spells when I'm stressed or extremely tired from lack of proper sleep but Meclizine or half of a 5 mg Valium will usually take care of the problem and get me back on track again. All my best to my fellow Monolaurinites and those of you who are considering giving it a try. I’m praying you'll find relief from your debilitating vertigo attacks very soon. God bless and take care, my friends! Lulu ♥
wow Lulu that's great to know! So happy for you, even on AV's I need to increase when stress, fatigue etc is too much, maybe if you supplement with lysine it may take care of the occasional dizzies, but thank goodness it is not vertigo! Thanks so much! for the update.
That was the update I was really waiting for. Thanks Lulu, and congratulations on gaining control over the vertigo. That's wonderful news! I too have used monolaurin in an attempt to address the remaining balance problems I have, thinking that perhaps the anti-virals could use a little help or that herpes might be more vulnerable if other things were done to contribute to it's destruction. That ended up not working and the hypothesis that I actually just have something in addition to and co-morbid with the Meniere's(like MAV possibly) seems more likely now. I was taking up to 6 teaspoons a day(for a couple bottles of lauricidin worth) and no real changes to my balance problems. Then I stopped taking it and nothing bad happened. So it's something I would probably use again if I ever lost access to the anti-virals for some reason but it didn't seem to provide any more relief than the anti-virals alone. This seems to confirm what others here have said, that once you gain control of the vertigo, if you still have balance problems over an extended period of time, then the likely source is something in addition to the MM. Something that probably has a completely different cause. Useful thread.
I take a spoonful every morning but I don't think it has done anything for me. My ear still fluctuates a lot, after all this time I still can't figure out much of a pattern to it. Today I have almost zero hearing in it. Yet I can go for weeks of almost normal in every way. F__ing disease!
